BTW: Already seen this get 1 cold... if you can find it cheaper... blody let me know!!!

Dont be lame and vote cold and run off.. post a comment about why and where its cheaper, i know plenty of people that will like to know...

thanks

Not voting, because while I'm sure it is a good deal (maybe great deal for the product), the product is not for me - similar specs available much cheaper (battery excluded) and (more importantly) I found I hated the track pad on this.

Good deal. I have been looking for a while and although I ordered from Additionsdirect a week or so ago at approx £240, the order got cancelled. Ordered placed - thanks Tizz.

dont take it personally, there's lots of idiots spoiling the site lately:x

it seems to be about the cheapest you can buy it for so hot from me.

Thats odd ,I ordered one from Additions Direct a few weeks ago and the order was also cancelled for no reason. So bought an LG X110 netbook from Ebuyer in the end for £229.99,
very pleased with it. This price for the Samung NC10 is certainly the cheapest i have seen for a few weeks. Bound to get cheaper though as NC20 has come out.

Forget the NC20...we are waiting for the N110/N120/N310 to start shipping!

I ordered from Additions direct too and have waited in for delivery today, with no luck. Looked on website and notice that delivery is expected on Friday now. No email or phone call to let me know. Perhaps they will cancel my order too??

hmm time will tell, its bad of them , as there canceling due to an error on there part with the terms and conditions and dont want to honor it.. even though legaly they do have to.. stupid additions.

As for the people who orderd it, glad i could help! i cant stretch any more than 250 myself, so it looks like ive gota hold on till the NC110 comes out for this price to drop that low ... cmmmooon lol

The sammie is awesome - a 4 quid odd teknika usb mouse from Tesco is much better than
a trackpad anyday.

Still hope the price drops on them & will get another one.

Are you allowed to mention that TopCashback offer 3% for Dixons sales, knocking another £8 or so off the total?

I agree; I got my NC10 6 months back and its fantastic, getting 6hours+ with wifi on. Managed to get a mouse for £3 off a good auction site - white with a mirrored edge matches it perfectly!

lowest price for a cracking netbook, HOT!

Dabs have just sent me an advert for the N120 @ £379.50

But it is still cheaper at Viking Direct... even though the discount code has expired and it has gone up 10 pounds. It is 269.99 delivered from there before Quidco. They have all colours and deliver very swiftly.

But that is the ex-VAT price of the NC10. If you switch to the "Personal" site it goes up to £310.49!

Samsung ! ,is it just my bad luck or are they design to last just 13mths ?

Searched for 10" netbooks got me 3 equivilant , but all were 3 cell batteries

The cheapest is still £234.98 shipped ( and only one left)

So, yeah, good deal

Got mine last week from the Additions Direct deal:
- De-crapified the install of all the Samsung cruft
- Upgraded to 2GB ram (£13 from play)
- Upgraded to wireless N (£30)

...it absolutely flies.

A **great** piece of slim kit with awesome battery life and excellent build quality, I couldn't recommend it more highly (and I used to be a huge EEE fan)!

Voted hot! Cheers, been looking for a decent deal for a while.

Unless you're a pauper, anything below £300 is a decent price for this fantastic netbook, just buy one.

I bought one at the start of the year to replace a monolithic and aged HP Pavilion - not knowing if the NC10 would suffice at it was my first ever netbook.

Haven't looked back since - handles pretty much anything I throw at it: Redtube vids, Youtube vids, transfers MP3 files quickly - it all works great... as long as you have it set to max-performance! Remember that. Also, when web-browsing, if the text appears too large on the small screen - the text sizing is altered using the same method as zooming in/out on an iPod Touch/iPhone, place two fingers at opposing edges of (left and right) trackpad and draw the fingers together to make the text smaller - do the opposite to increase the text sizing.

Only real downsides are the (purposefully) tiny and weak in-built speaker, underpowered for IT pro's/PC enthusiasts - or just good old nerdy types, no disc drive is a pain in the rear also but you get used to that, the trackpad takes some getting used to as it's very small in depth. Keyboard is near full size with only the odd key alteration causing a few double keys pressed nown again....but you've guessed it...you'll get used to it.

Also, the netbook has a handy antibacterial coating apparently - great for when you've finished on Redtube

I've had mine for 6 months now and I wouldn't be without it.
Upgrading the RAM was child's play even for me (I didn't need any help from my hubby).

I owned 2 EEE PCs before I got this (701 and 900) and I too can't recommend the NC10 highly enough.

I love it.

Sceptical at first, but can't find a definitive bad review, nor a better price for what seems a fine piece of kit.

Thanks OP - voted hot as a result

I've had an NC10 since November, great little laptop. I would wait at least another month before buying one though, as i'm sure prices will drop to around the £200-£250 mark once N110/N310 become widely available.

Can you tell me where you got the wireless N upgrade from please?

I bought a GIGABYTE Aircruiser N300 module & an extra antenna from OxfordTec. I've purchased from here before and both orders arrived quickly and safely. Great value for money, and an easy upgrade.

Module:
oxfordtec.com/uk/…tml

Antenna:
oxfordtec.com/uk/…tml

I looped the thrid antenna around the space surrounding the hard drive, there's abolutely no need to open the screen casing. Actually, the further away the 3rd antenna is from the other two the better - for optimum Wireless N signal.

I used to get 11% signal in the front room (looong way away) and connection drop-outs every 10 minutes...it's now 55% strong and I haven't had a single drop-out.

A good resource for helping to take the case apart is:
tomacintosh.com/200…10/

Got one of these for my daughter at christmas. She uses it every day and loves it. The battery life is fantastic (5 hours). Seems to be standing up well to the rigours of being used by a teenager!

For those who have bought this, what do you make of the weight with the battery? Is it something you can sling over your shoulder in a small bag? I'm looking for alight weight notebook and this does seem to have lots of good reviews especially in the performance arena.

Coco you mentioned seeing one for £238 where? In fact where is the cheapest place (besides Dixons) to find this machine?

This is a brilliant machine. Got mine last week from Marshall Ward. Been waiting for the price to drop for a while. Outstanding, use the Microsoft office suite, not problems and used for internet etc. Connected to my wirelsss printer really easily, and so user friendly. Only problem is that the @ button is in the wrong place (not the key you press as shown on the keyboard) and I canot find the £ sign. (using other laptop to publish this reply). Any help would be gratefully received.

Yeah prob will do in june or down to 275 anyway when the nc110 is out

Whats the recommended set up for this machine, I seem to have a 70/70 hard drive as opposed to one 160, C drive

Original Poster

well you could go for a 10 gig boot partition, 60 gig program partition, and the remainder for storage etc if you did want to go down that route. seems to me a good split

Whats the problem with having just c drive at 160gb?

Do you mean have a 10gb C, then the rest split beween a D and E drive?

I love my little pink NC10, but I did struggle to use the touchpad. I found this Sammy forum thats really usefull & they have a whole thread on changing the touch pad to do 2 finger scrolling sammynetbook.com/plu…6.0 I installed this & its brilliant, no problems at all now :-D

Nothings wrong with having the c at 160, you asked so i thought you tend to partition your drives. Some of our work machines have a C partition of 10gb, this holds the OS only, then the rest of the drive can be used for what ever, saves timed defraging, also boot up is quicker slightly etc, i would suggest reading up on it if you want to know all the + and - of partitioning a drive and data management , google that up!

If you brought a PC and the drive is split into two, sometimes half is used as a backup / restore drive, and the other is your main drive, or something like that, I've never brought a pc but my gf's has something like that. Normally so if the S**t hits the fan, you can totally restore your C drive using the other partition.

Someone (Clefable @ sammynetbook.com) just found the N110 on the Dixons site (mislabelled as an NC110?);

dixons.co.uk/mar…ull

Its £350 delivered, and perhaps the £15 voucher works too ... very tempted, pity it doesn't come with Linux!

It's just every new computer or laptop we have ever owned always came with one C drive, I think we must have missed the option to do this on start up, however seems we are not alone as have just read of several others missing it to.

Yes I think it did say something about recovery partition but I would rather utilise the whole drive, saying that if splitting it improved booting up then it might make sense to do so.

What is the best method to now revert back to get either one C or a different spilt, I tried using recovery but it came back as 50/50 and never seemed to allow me to do anything different
