Where are those freebies by likes of AKG, etc? Otherwise hard sell, Sony is giving away on contracts free gaming consoles + expensive, best in class earbuds

Not worth at all IMO. Great device but next Samsung's are weeks away and will outpower this massively.

The next Note range is due out in August. The ones that are coming will be the Samsung S11 on the 11th Feb. It's a different model of phone. The Note is more of a phablet than a phone. The specs on the S range will be different. I've just bought this for my partner as he runs his business from his phone, so the Note is a much better option than the S. (Also the price of the S11 will be disgusting for quite a while ). My manager at Carphone called my on my maternity leave to tell me about this deal, hopefully that expresses what a good deal it is
You can buy these brand new on ebay from people who have bought it in deals etc, for around £650-£750. Not worth an extra £400+ for the hassle of a contract payment on top of that. Not a bad deal vs RRP though.
Voted hot. However I think that these are the best offers for this phone on a contract:

I won't bother to post it as a deal, people will downvote just because more than 1K.

That’s because Sony aren’t selling phones. If you get yourself a flagship Sony phone it’ll have a much lower resale value by the end of the contract too.

Yep, totally irrational resale values, I recently posted Xperia 5 deal on CeX, £260 grade A, only 3 months after launch, ridiculous for a well-reviewed flagship with almost no use. Now they put price up, £275, still immense value.

Coming to brands, I'd still prefer Samsung but not at any price. A grand for a phone without freebies, even a great phone, is a bit obscene imo. And with Samsung owning AKG, kind of it's asking for it - even Huawei partnered with Bose at time of P20 pro release, QC35 II free to boot

My main point wasn’t about the comparative second hand value of each; I was more saying that Sony are offering more because they have to. The end result isn’t necessarily a better deal for the buyer though as the resale value will fall off a cliff quickly. I could have bought a brand new Xperia 5 from a local shop for £200 the other day! I didn’t in the end but the spec is crazy for that money.
Thanks noted
This is for 4g data not 5g
