cold from me seems a bit pricey for that spec

yeah you can get a better spec dell studio for around the same amount

Looks like it comes with Vista? Here is the same spec Dell Inspiron 17 for £449 with newer T4400 cpu:

the dell allegedly was supposed to cost £613 before ???That's a silly joke of mr dell.

At that price level (449) I would rather look for something with i3...in additon the inspiron'd quality is not that impressive - it'sjust cheap lappy

I have got inspiron 1545 (made in china) - quality of cheap Toshibas (e.g. L series ) is just incomparable, Tosh is made much better

'looks like a baddun'

Samsung laptops are unique, they come with restore discs, and a seperate disc which has all the drivers and bloatware on it, but you can choose not to install the bloatware, so you have a very quick machine from the off with no crap on it.

However, this is a little pricey for the spec, for £599 you can get the Samsung R580 which has the new i3 processor and a tidy graphics chip. Also Samsung are sticking with 32 bit Windows at the moment which I think is a right move considering not everything is 64 bit yet.

I am holding out for the R780 which is £699, but there is no stock anywhere yet!! Too new.
