If this is the spec linked to on saveonlaptops and is £337, is a bloody bargain! I doubt I'll get it next week when I get paid next week though....
I had this machine. It is well built & the red top was a nice touch. The screen is fab. Very good price
This seems very good and pretty much what I am after- what are the pit falls of a refurb against a new one generally?
Just bought one, will let you guys know.

Hardly anything really, the only difference is the retailers can't sell this in their store anymore as it's a customer return, so they send it back to the manufacturer, everything is made spanky brand new, plastic covers etc. And sold on either in pallets to resellers or sold on eBay etc. Your covered for another 6-12 months anyway with their refurb warranty, so no pitfalls really other than the box being opened.
Just bought one, seems great for the money with that size screen. Worth a punt on a refurb at the price I think. Thanks OP.
all sold...

Refurbs can and are sold in store.
Not all refurbs are done by the manufacturer. Many companies do it themselves or outsource it to third parties. Check the listing and you'll see it indicates "seller refurbished" rather than "manufacturer refurbished".
Generally speaking stuff isnt made brand new, just whatever fault or issue is resolved and job done complete with any minor damage, signs of previous use, etc. Some companies will grade refurbs so you know what to expect but don't believe DSG does.

Pathetic 3 month warranty and no confirmation of spec or other information in the listing. Five brave people out there lol.

Not true of DSGi group. They refurb their own stock. So it might be a mint customer return or it might be a repaired item. General feedback is they tend to be pretty good, but your always likely to get a few bad ones. Look of the draw. But you can always send it back if it's too tatty for your liking.

You can return it within 7 days for a full refund so if the spec is wrong that's an option and it also says further down the page 'Refurbished product comes with our 6 month guarantee from the date of purchase.'

True enough you have DSR. Title says 3 months, listing says 6 months, so that's something else your gambling on (most of the refub listings seem to contradict themself the same way, go figure). Better you than the resale vultures anyway, so hope your bravery is rewarded.

Thanks, I hope so too! Just thought it looked worth taking a chance on rather than spending £500 on a similar spec with a smaller screen. Time will tell!
