I dunno about anyone else but I'd rather have. QD-OLED the g8 model for example.
Dunno why. Just figure if you're spending high amounts may as well get the pristine blacks etc

There's a few reasons for me to choose this over the OLED stuff thats out there, be it the G8 or Alienware...

    1. This resolution is superior, from a productivity standpoint (and gaming...) I can get way more on the screen than a 3440x1440 offering such as the G8.
    2. Screen burn/burn-in from an OLED, though still somewhat of an unknown and time will certainly tell, for my specific use case, I'll be using this for productivity 8 hours a day and wouldn't want to chance any games getting ruined by having a ghosted start button on them all the time.
    3. And then there's just the physical size... Once you've had a 49" ultrawide monitor with the 1000R curve wrap around your vision, nothing smaller is gonna cut it, especially a 34" 'ultrawide' monitor...

As usual though, each to their own

HDR is broken out of the box so a firmware update is essential.

Other than that I’ve been pretty impressed with it. The white/black contrast can’t reach the quality of an OLED, but the Mini LED does a great job and the peak brightness is amazing.

Most games do. For driving games or World of Tanks / Warships it is epic. Dont forget you will need a pretty good graphics card to get high frames per sec.

I've had this monitor for about a year and it is fantastic. Great for productivity using Microsoft screen toys to setup window splitting. It is expensive but I definetly think it is worth the money.

I would get it but I need to get rid of the CRG49 first for space!

How do you find the CRG49? I've read lots of reports about build quality on the Samsung monitors being rubbish

What about gaming, how many games support super ultrawide atm, & is it likely to increase considering there are not that many people with monitors this size?

Is this good for posting memes because I'm not a gamer?
