looks pretty good. If only I had £60

This is a BARGAIN, top camera , amazing price !!!!!

Be careful. Argos refurbished ones of this are selling for the same price.

Not sure, if Argos made a mistake just seems a little strange that the refurb ones are the same price as a sealed new one.
Suppose you could always return it.
As for the 3200, i would also like to know whats funny about that?
All in all, this camera gets very good reviews, just do a search on youtube etc.

Keep in mind this was about £200 at the time of the review, so for under £60 delivered , i think its a stonking deal!

not sure why funny unless you dont believe it as its very high for any camera let alone a point and shoot

Great deal if you are after a decent point and shoot, for not much money at all.

However really, if you just need a standard point and shoot, and wanna be careful with money, don't even buy something this good - you don't NEED these kind of specs, but nice to have if you want (or if you like telling friends about big crazy numbers).

Nice find Hot
The main disadvantage of high ISO is image noise, which shows the individual pixels. Some people call it 'grain' which is the wrong word, but which describes it fairly well.

My wife just told me she uses ISO 3200 when shooting at some concerts ?
I haven't got a problem with 3200 iso I've never felt the need to select it on my DSLR`s , just trying to say the higher the ISO the more noise you get and you have to find a compromise that suikts your need ..

I shoot mainly Macro bug shots and I never stray higher than 400 , and the same with my wildlife shots , ive done a few bird in flight shots using 800 ...

I never had a issue with 3200 lol just trying to help what camera do you use btw ?

Nice find. Voted hot!

Just ordered one, purely for the video capability. £58 for a 30fps @ 720p HD camcorder that fits in your pocket, as well as taking decent photos suits me rather nicely!

agree it adds noise but come on this is a pos - cheap at that (paid almost 12x that for a 24-70 lens) - so pics will be naff anyway lol but acceptable - pos cameras have big advantages - esp for me....i just wanted a cheap camera for the ski slopes.....try skiing with a dslr lolol....plus i didnt want to risk damaging my dslr

samsung arent renowned for their cameras but generally alot of their stuff is cheap but very good quality so hoefully should be fine.......my last cheapo cameras (used for ebay pics) were awful - HP, Kodak and Vivitar (never again with those makes)

yeh hint, we are lucky as got a family member who lives in switzerland to book us for 10 days in zermatt (about 70% cheaper than thomson - AND the thomson deal was worse as in a hotel not apartment)

1600 is fine for F1 pics when using my bros monster sized 400 pro lens (extends to 3 feetish i think)...makes taking close up pics from a long distance pssible but challenging lol...especially when panning and trying not to smack someone in the head lol!!

Edited by: "royals" 16th Jan 2011

Cheers. Ordered - though I'm not exactly sure I needed it.

Cracking deal - for under £60 this looks like a real bargain. Was looking for something as an alternative to my DSLR and this looks perfect.

Ordered. 12 have been ordered in the space of about 6 minutes so move fast if you want one!

Thanks to OP - heat added.

Ah never tried 1600 for cars , Ill try that when I go to Silverstone this year sounds like a nice lens

Dammit!
I bought the ES73 from Play for the same price before Xmas.
Sounds like a similar camera except for the 720 video. I'd have liked that :-(

Good spot!

I've just ordered one to take skiing should complement the DSLR well. The video looks very good for the money and at this price not too worried if it dies.

Thanks for posting. Just ordered one after relying on disposables for the past 6 months.....the costs of developing wont be missed

great camera for the price. +1 - ordered.

Great price. Ordered.

Sounds like some very good spec for the money, nice one OP.

nice

thanks...my relative wanted one camera..bought it for them..great price..heat added..

not bad. I bought ES70 yesterday and bought this one again. Gosh. I can't resist.

Thanks OP

Sold ~ 80 during last 6 hours , 47 remaining in stock , hurry up.

Great been needing a compact for a while now, great thx.

yeh i think the lens cost him about £1200 or 1400...its not the £6K one lol but still great......it felt more like a bazooka rather than a lens....my 24-70 was too limited for long shots but brill for closeups which is what i expected though its a brill walkabout lens....his 400 was amazing though could take shots sat down about 200+m from the cars and panning across keeping car in shot without tripod lol!! if we did it again id say a stepladder with monopod is needed for good shots from the concourse - stepladder needed to get shots from over the stupid fence...who designs these courses!!
