Product Information

The 43-inch Samsung PS43D450A Plasma TV will deliver HD action to your living room via any number of connectivity options. 600hz subfield motion ensures a smooth picture, allowing you to sit back and enjoy in comfort.
The SPS43D450A will enable you to watch fast-paced sporting action, or the latest high-octane blockbuster without any flickering in picture quality or jerking. Every frame is seamlessly smooth because due to 10 full subfields (600Hz) in each frame. Subsequently, contours appear crisper, scrolling text sharper and no juddering images.

The Clear Image Panel technology built-into the PS43D450A uses a film filter instead of conventional glass, eliminating layered images and producing ones that are ultra-clear and blur-free from almost every angle.

Two HDMI slots will allow you to connect HD Devices, such as your Blu-ray player, games console or satellite receiver, to the PS43D450A. As well as a SCART socket, connect a USB flash drive to the USB port and you’ll be able to instantly access all of your multimedia, be it family videos, holiday snaps or MP3’s.

Supreme sound quality is delivered by Dolby Digital Plus and 2x 10W speakers, whilst SRS TheaterSound will provide you with an all round immersive experience. An integrated digital tuner allows you to view standard Freeview channels and plan your viewing with an electronic programme guide. Includes a table top stand.

This television is ‘high definition ready’ which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

Looks like a great TV and good price.

However Its not in stock!

Thanks anyway
Screen resolution 1024 x 768 on 43" TV is ridiculous in my opinion
Also, maybe it's just mine but the plasma (LG) I have generates a lot of heat and cannot be powered off (only placed in standby). Something I'm told LCD TV's can.
People still buy 720p tv's ?
bargain with a 5 year warranty
same price at tesco too
I think the mods should install a forum filter which converts the text HD Ready into '720p dont bother opening this thread'. Seriously why are people posting 720p deals? Waste of time.

Not everybody wants or needs anything higher than 720p, doesn't really make much difference on a Plasma TV anyway.

Great TV for the price.

Not as silly as your comment, the item is sadly out of stock now, which kind of proves my point that there are plenty of people that will buy this TV for this money.
@ Inactive - Because many people who are not that switched on with this tech will not actually realise it is not full HD until they get it home and and it is too late.

Not voting either way as it depends on what you want. However a full 1920 x 1080 screen is not much more expensive these days and yes... there is a big diff between 1080p and 720p.

The fact you said that tells me you don't know what you are talking about.

Yeah, I probably would have gone for it for my parents for christmas, they don't have or want Sky HD and aren't that interested in Blurays but need a modern TV
This TV keeps being made hot at £349, but is only £329 at Tesco......

That of course depends very much on the viewing distance from the screen, I sit about 15 foot away from mine, so there really isn't any noticeable difference.

Anyway £ 349 with a 5 year warranty would be hard to beat, feel free to post a link to a 1080p Samsung deal that is not " much more expensive ".

The only thing it proves is that there are plenty of people who will buy any old rubbish just because it's cheap.

Something else this TV doesn't have is a Freeview HD tuner.

Tesco has 1 year warranty, John Lewis has 5 years which is worth about £100 when bought seperately.

This TV is not " rubbish " it isn't the latest model, but it would still provide excellent value for money for those that are not sucked in by the " numbers game ".

What exactly would be the point of buying a TV which is neither 720p or 1080p?
Sometimes it's better for some people to know nothing at all than for them to take a tiny bit of knowledge and base their entire mindset around it.

It also doesn't have a blu ray player, games console or built in coffee machine but I can't see any of those things being an issue either. For anyone that mainly watches SKY (HD and/or SD) this could possibly be ideal judging by the spec. alone. The numbers on paper alone however don't mean much at all despite what the 1080 brigade seem to want people to believe.

So you would rather have a separate Freeview HD box and two remote controls? That makes sense.

How does this TV deal with squashing 1280x720 & 1920x1080 content into 1024x768?

Yeah if I were to use freeview I probably would as generally a decent offboard freeview box will give a better picture than an internal one anyway. What's more I would have thought most people will want some kind of PVR anyway so a separate box and remote is on the cards either way.

As for your second question, I haven't seen this TV in action so I won't comment. I assume you have or are you basing all your negative opinions on numbers and nothing more!?

I would yes, because no TV has a HD PVR built in, only one remote control, that would be my programmable Logitech.
If anyone still wants this from JL with the 5 year guarantee - try going into a branch as they may well have stock there, or be able to order one in from a different branch.
back in stock
Like most people I watch SkyHD and play Xbox 360........

Sky do not broadcast in 1080p and Xbox 360 games are native 720p

So to that end anyone on here bashing 720p is a moron
