Spotted this in Bristol Costco today. Big TV, 3D, Smart, with 2 pairs of active 3D glasses, and a 5-year Costco warranty, for a really good price. Assuming national. And yes, Costco members only. If you haven't got a Costco membership, find someone who has ;-)

Fab price, booked mine. Only 6 left in Cardiff.

Best tv I have had

Brilliant deal!

great tv had mine over a year now

Can you go online with, like YouTube? cos I need one

great TV, mine was fried last week during a storm

Worst TV I've had, lasted 13 months before half a dozen vertical lines appeared on the right hand site. Lucky enough had a M&S 5 year warranty, it was not cost effective to repair so gave me a full refund. Always regretted buying it as I found the picture quality poor, have now gone back to Panasonic and it knocks spots off this. Maybe I was unlucky but won't get another TV without a 5 year warranty again otherwise I'd have been just out on a standard one.

Anyone know if this is any good for gaming and what the input lag is?

you were unlucky but agree that Pannys are slightly better

Fantastic telly and even though from 2011 an amazing price. I think this was over £1,500 when it first came out

The bezel looks a bit big. I've got a Samsung plasma and one the things that appealed to me was the relatively slim bezel. I wondered if it was just the photo, but the TV next to it has a noticeably slimmer bezel and I find this TV quite ugly. Even if it had an amazing picture, I'd always hate that ugly bezel.

how?

We paid £850 for this this time last year. Great Tv and a steal at this price.
Costco give a free 5 year guarantee and you have 90 days to return it if you don't like it.

My only complaint if I'm being picky is the extra power consumption over a similar sized LED. However you'll not buy an equivalent TV close in price so, it would probably take 10 years to become a problem cost wise.

Yeah, and it's got an ugly big bezel, mine is a plasma and it hasn't got an ugly big bezel I find it curious that this TV has an ugly big bezel where most recent Samsung's haven't.

oooh so tempting, I'm in the market for a 60" though...

I quite like the silver bezel, make a change from finger print magnet piano black.

In store only?

I have this in 60" and it's the mutts nuts,paid £1000 3 months ago.great deal.

lighting strike would of created a power surge which will come through your tv and kill it ir just blow the electrics in the tv

thats why I have mine plugged into a power surge extension lead

AVForums reported 40ms inputlag so would only suit a casual gamer really. "In Game mode the input lag on the PS51D8000 measured at 40ms "

If your house is directly struck by lightning surge protectors will be of little help.

Serious? Big bezel... on a 51" plasma.

The reason it is a 51" is that it has the same size panel as other 50" plasma sets but the Bezel was an inch thinner leading to more visable screen area.

although this model is from 2011 its an absolute steel for this flagship model of tv
ie
D range 2011/12
E range 2012/13
F range 2013/14

great picture quality
ive owned one of these
currently got a Samsung ps51e8000 and a Panasonic 50vt50
and this tv is up there with both of them

Was tempted at first - but this TV is over two years old! Yes, it is a top end Series 8 TV but it won't have the latest "smart TV" software or advances in 3D processing power. Current 2013MY Plasma's are FXXXX, 2012 was E and 2011 was D.

I wouldnt buy anything with the words FUXXU in it?

would be a backward step bud if both you latest TVs are e8000 and f8500
cant comment on the lower model numbers as never looked into them but the 8000 range picture qualty is stunning
also you can turn any tv into the latest Samsung smart hub by adding a bdp-Fxxxx 3d smart blue ray player cost about £60
a lot cheaper than buying a Samsung evolution kit which retail at £220
im like you bud plasma all the way,
have had a ue55c8000 and a ue55es8000 led, and wasn't happy with them
the c had the blinking issue and the es8000 when watching football on SD was appalling

Me thinks you know nothing about plasmas!

Do all plasma TVs have built in fans. If so - how loud are they?

would of thought so bud
i have 2 x 3D plasmas ps51e8000 and txp50vt50 and never heard a fan kick in

This is my TV!! Bought it for £750 16 months ago (and still working great) via a deal on here. £480 for this is such a bargain!

People keep saying the bezel is 'ugly', I think it looks good, much thinner than any other TV I've had before this. But who cares anyway? You don't buy a TV to watch the bezel.
