Any reviews or experience with this tv? It worth the money?

Anybody knows how this compares with a Panasonic GT60b?

I would imagine the panny would beat this. Richer sounds has it and think its got really good reviews

2.62% TCB. should be another £16.48 off it by my calculations. dont bank on it though but worth a punt.

was looking at it myself earlier

I had this tv, for a while.

It's not a bad set, but suffers from brightness popping and isn't very vibrant, not enough brightness in the panel IMO.

Finally send it back due to buzzing sound that could be heard from 10ft away.

It's not a bad set for the cash, owners thread over on the avforums. I went with the model up, the F8500, which is in a different class, but more than twice the price

thanks rizel23, i might give this one a miss

Plasma tellys don’t do brightness very well, especially full white/light colours. They limit the amount of power to the panel when it displays a light colour full screen so it looks noticeably dimmer.

It’s more harsh and noticeable now since the manufacturers have to abide by stricter regulations regarding energy use, carbon emissions and all that (crap)

Explain brightness popping please. I was very interested to buy this set until I found out how reflective the screen was (problem with most flat screens these days) Glad I didn't if it has other issues as well. Does the brightness levels change of its own accord? I had a Panasonic plasma over 5 years ago that did that and it drove me insane.

Wouldn't touch Plasma after having two in the past, not good for gaming or general colour output. LCD/LED all the way. (but still a good deal if you prefer Plasma)

Yes that's correct, the tv features an auto brightness function that you can't adjust to keep the energy use down I guess, so if you have a mostly white screen and press the sky on screen guide it then al of a sudden gets brighter, but it's the same if other features come in the picture.

But the panel is very reflective also, it can be like mirror at times.

I splayed the cash and got the F8500 samsung plasma, and after 2 faulty sets finally got a good one, as bright as an led with far superior picture and black levels, quad core so ultra fast.

Just got mine delivered yesterday >paid £560 with 1 yr warranty.
SD channels are quite washed out but HD are excellent. Not tried 3D yet but hope its OK.
The panel is pentile and some people look out for pixels etc but I'm not too into that..can't see them so wont look out for it.
I would advise to look at settings have a play and return if you can't live with it. To be honest i haven't decided to keep it but it beats the LG 50PH660V hands down with its superior pic and black levels.
It also inc 2 pairs of glasses and a blue-tooth remote.
The jurys out on this one....

Adam, can you please let me know where you bought it for £560?

The item was open box Grade A but its was like new with 12 months warranty. Buy with nationwide with another 12Mths warranty. Not sure im keeping it may return.

The 51" is NOT repeat NOT pentile. Only the 60" is pentile.

I thought 51 and 60 was same panel.
Can you provide a link. This is even better might keep it now
