Do your research. Even typing in a search engine 'best 55inch TV 2013" will give you multiple websites reviewing multiple TVs.
Good price, was hoping the 50 inch version would also be on offer

The 51" is available for £650.

I would've been interested if it was a Panasonic Plasma or a Samsung LED. Heated anyway.

Lol just go and choose one. You can't go wrong with £1500 except for the fact that it's a stupid amount to spend on a kind of TV that you want.

So tempted, but I'm a gamer and I don't think the response times are the best on this. Does anyone know any actual figures?

I could be wrong but plasmas have near 0ms response times.
This is inherent with the technology.

Panasonic quotes a response time of 0.01ms for its current mainstream plasma TVs, whereas typical LCD response times clock in at between 4ms and 8ms.All this talk of milliseconds might not sound much on paper, but it can be the difference between moving objects retaining or losing clarity as they cross the screen.Read more at http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/plasma-and-lcd-tv-tech-explained_Page-2#7Y11LJfqrPTxUvmA.99

No LCD panel can currently compete with plasma, when it comes to response times.

You can't go wrong with this, Panasonic TX-55ST60B.
Yes, I know it's plasma.

good deal, heat added, just wish my girlfriend would let me buy another TV!
good price but no good in a well lit room.
Watching the 51" version now, going to send that back and get it for £550 from Tesco using discount.

Want to go bigger as i have a long viewing distance!
If you need to go really big, which is what appears to be the case, have you thought about getting a projector.
You can get a huge screen and you get a truly cinematic feel.
The projector will definitely give you the wow factor.

Use the projector for the movie spectaculars.
And use your current Sony telly to watch Eastenders, and the like.

Just an idea.
yeah not allowed one.

Work discount mate, 20% off for a week.
The missus wouldn't let me buy this even if I had the money but voting hot regardless! Only issue I have with plama's is the screenburn that comes hand-in-hand with being a gamer.

I've just read a Which report on the extended warranties for these new TVs and their findings are that its a complete waste of cash as only around 2% have been returned due to failures outside the standard warranty period. Also, covered under sale of goods act where it must last a reasonable time so if its a fault with the TV you should get it fixed for free.

Bought this a couple of months ago when it was last posted, price matched by JL for 900 quid. Very pleased with it so far.
Can't see that JL even do this set/model unless anyone can find ? If JL were doing this for 900 notes with 5 yr guarantee I'd defo buy !

Sorry, I meant input lag. All TVs have input lag and it's to do with the processing involved, not the actual display type.

Anyone have any suggestions for an alternative quality 60 inch TV thats LCD or LED? I see the reviews say this is difficult for a light room and very reflective and I have a very light room and concerned about the reflectiveness of the screen. Plus it doesnt have a headphone socket.

I'm sure there's probably not a 60 inch TV thats LCD or LED at a similar price but something thats not much more? Any thoughts? Thanks!
