Troll attempt, this is a deal website, not one of your other social media platforms to comment on and get a meme in reply...

If you can show me any other technology, including oLED LG panels, that come anywhere close to this tech, do not bother telling me, just simply send your research off to Samsung.. sure they would love to know where to spend the next billion on R&D..why do you think its still the best 2 years on... and the next gen Micro qLED will be so big for the next 5+ years...

If qLED is "just fancy" lcd, we can only all assume, you have not owned either, or have never seen the 2 variants of eRtd panel diodes next to each other, in the ALL the TV's that everyone buys today.. thanks for the input, sure it was worth it...

Every TV thread turns into this now. You’re spouting rubbish mate. If QLED was the saviour, then why have Samsung just started producing their own oled panels? I’ll tell you why - because they’ve been getting thrashed in the premium Tv market for 2-3 years and they know Micro LED is a LONG way away from being consumer viable. The Q6FNA is a mid range TV. Anyone considering this should plump down the extra £100 for the Sony XF900 which is a considerably better set with FALD, better HDR and Dolby Vision support

So what? Not a tad of difference, our Q9F and our friends 65" Q6 (same panel and features as this deal) have so many different things to each other, but the whole watching expereince in the right enviroment (eg not in currys!) with the right input, is superb!

Also, here is last year’s Tv shoot out. A bunch of AV experts were thrown in a room and asked to compare last years top TV’s from 4 manufacturers. The Q9FN (which is a LOT better than this) finished last by a wide margin: flatpanelshd.com/new…002

Must be. Otherwise can’t see why this would be so cheap!:) Must be some old technology!:)

And sarcasm aside, you have compared that to KURO?:)

Muahaha
Decent price, probably safer than an LG B8 or Toshiba OLED if you're a gamer. Not the best LCD set in the market by a long shot, but comparable to the LG 8500 range. If you've no interest in Dolby Vision then the Samsung set is a good choice

Indeed, Samsung's "rival" to the Sony XF900 is the 8DN which is £1500+.

Some would say that the 8DN is better but its close. Except in price that is.
Why do they call it QLED, if it's LCD?
QLED = EASILYLED

Its comparable to the LG 9500 which in turn was competing against the Sony 9000 series. All were significantly more on release. All around 1600 quid.

The performance to price ratio was far too great when I got my new TV.

The only TV I would have got at the time was the q9 when it was 1600 with the note 9 free which would have taken it down to 1k

Looked at oled for few years but 4 kids 2 dogs and the kids habits of leaving a TV paused for an hour at a time when I'm not home 😡 and dog noses pressing into TV the LCD was the most robust.

Performance to cost I went for the nu8000, upgrading from 4 or 5 year old 46 inch TV, the jump in performance was vast.

The q6 wasn't a vast upgrade over the 8000 certainly not 35 to 40 % more in cost for a 10% max performance difference.

But I think the q6 needs to come down to the £750 mark now to still have a place in the 2018 TV market

This TV is better than the Sony, theres more to a TV than FALD and no its not better at HDR, i bought the sony and sent it back and bought the Samsung, far brighter and less motion blur with no chance of screen burn.

I'd say it's more in competition with the sk8500, not 9500. Contrast and brightness superior on this due to VA panel, black levels and viewing angles better on the 8500 as it has FALD whereas this is edgelit. Both 120hz panels, both similar input lag. In theory LG could support HDR10+ through firmware update (unlikely mind), whereas it wouldn't be possible to support DV on the Samsung.

I totally agree with you. What people don't realise (and I don't blame them for not knowing) is that there's advantages and disadvantages to both. Personally, I find the QLEDs are better for gaming. For movies, I prefer OLED. In the end, it comes down to personal preference/what you use most. Well said though.

It's obviously subjective but having seen several TVs side by side and being a total dweeb researching I found the 9500 better than the nu8000 on most things, the nu8000 was the lowest out of the ones I was interested in seeing, the Sony 9005 and the q6 were the other TVs. At the time the 9500 cheapest i could get it to was 1200 the 9005 was same sort of price q6 was 950 and nu800 was 685.

I did the rtings comparing charts and in person. I'm a nerd 🙈

My TV is facing a large l shaped sofa so viewing angles no effect by anywhere on the sofa, distance was 10 foot away.

For me it wasn't worth the extra as the differences in my situation were minimal, certainly not a 35 to 80 % cost increase.

The q9 was significantly better for my TV environment but at 1700 at the time there was zero chance of me buying it although typically 2 weeks after I got my TV the q9 with note 9 was 1600, selling the note 9 would have brought the TV to 1k, I would have bitten then as could sell it for 1k a year later if I wanted to upgrade again.

Nearly bit several times on oled but until there is no kids I will have to suck it up.

Horses for courses, they are all significantly better than TVs from 4 years ago on the majority of things

The Sony has no chance of screen burn? It’s an LCD. Outperforms the Samsung in every non gaming area: rtings.com/tv/…623

It's cheap to produce, that;s why samsung are spending so much. The cost to manufacture OLED TV size will cost then a hell of a lot more in R+D alone, sure they can make AMOLED phone screens, but LG are already miles ahead and will just undercut them if they tried.

QLED < OLED always will be i'm afraid.

P,S Home Cinema is my business, although it's mostly AV Receivers and other audio, but we also do projectors and screens.

They paid reviewers to finish in 2nd place? OK. Here’s another. Only category the Q9 excels in is gaming and bright room performance: flatpanelshd.com/new…051

Not saying the Q9 isn’t a great TV. It is. But you’re saying the Q6 outperforms OLED which is objectively wrong
