Came out in 2017, but still feels relative to buy now, maybe some would disagree

8 year LG 47" 3d led here. Still going strong
I have a 49” Quantum-whatever-Samsung-are-calling-it-this-week in the bedroom. While it’s a nice set, you’d be mad to buy this rather than spending the extra couple hundred on an entry level oled set
Unbelieveable that anyone ever thought a curved TV screen was a good idea.

Not everyone wants OLED though
Nothing wrong with curved TVs. I have the 65ks9500 and i find it a nicer experience. In reality the curve really isn’t as pronounced as you think. The only issue I have is around reflections, otherwise I wouldn’t think twice about another one.
Comparing 3D and curve TV to Betamax is just plain daft! Betamax, despite being the better product, became obsolete because you couldn’t get the media.......curved and 3D TVs still work and play all the same tv and video signal as every other TV. They haven’t just stopped working!

Absolute bobbins! I have a LG 65" C series in my day room and I'd need to put them side by side to tell any real difference in quality...... Particularly true when sat at a normal distance. The blacks are a tad better on the LG, but I find the colours on the Samsung to be nicer....... Oh, and I have concerns about playing games on the LG - whilst I'm pretty certain it wouldn't suffer screen burn, I don't want to take the risk to find out.

Not at all - you clearly don’t know what your talking about then. Qled is just qlcd so suffers motion blur and poor resolution. Best go to spec savers

I know exactly what qled is......though I should point out my set isn’t qled. As I said, each has its advantages, and to call qled obsolete is laughable. You need to stop believing all the faff you see on the web.
Whilst OLED tends to have brighter colours and deeper contrast with better blacks, but I find them unnatural. LED has it’s own issues, though I don’t have a particular issue with motion blur on my set, though it’s a more mature technology and I like the more natural colours....... I’m not sure why you think resolution is a particular problem?

I have both and honestly can’t see a particular issue with either. Of course, I could examine the picture from 10 inches away, but then I don’t tend to watch from that distance. Monet made some beautiful paintings, but get up close enough and they all look a big old mess!

Remember, most computer screens are still led and you tend to sit a lot closer to them than a TV.

I specify audio visual components for a job - so know what I am talking about. Watch this to explain in simple terms.

I don’t care what you do for a living, and I have extreme difficulty in believing you have anything to do with audiovisual if you think QLED is all of a sudden obsolete. Samsung continue to make some of the best TVs available in terms of picture, and to deny that is inexplicable..............though, if you’d mentioned build quality then I’d rank them amongst the worst.

I assure you I am - Samsung qled displays are nothing but hyped up lcd displays- they are garbage quality reliably wise also. I wouldn’t have one in the house. Watch the video I linked and come back to me - you may understand better.
Sorry, but anyone that refers to a comparison of an 8k to 4K TVs is a tad foolish. If the media is identical then one or other screen is required to do a degree of processing to match the screen resolution........and if they are using different media then you’re not comparing apples with apples to start with.
I'm not arguing about Samsung's questionable marketing of QLED, just that the technology is no where near as redundant as you seem to imply.......and it’s not as if it’ll stop working the moment they release a new model!

ill leave this discussion, as I don’t think either of us will agree, and I have better things to do on a bank holiday than argue about TVs that I have no intention of buying.
