A little cheaper please! I regret not getting this when it was £700 at Curry’s. Heat anyway
2019 Q70R model is same price with 5 yr warranty direct from Samsung if you have student or employee portal discount.
Think this one isn't full aray
This is quite tempting.. Black Friday is more annoying than useful in the weeks leading up to it...
I like Black Friday because they let you return it until the of Jan. That said I wouldn’t buy a new TV without HDMI 2.1.
Just emailed rgb direct they said it's a error as the TV is out of stock would of been a decent price cheers anyways op

You have to go through the portal, i.e. unidays, student beans, whatever employee discount portal you might have, blue light, armed forces etc. Guessing if you are asking you don't have access to any of these?

What's the better TV this year? RU8000 or the q60? (65 inch).

RU8000 is about 365 Nits peak brightness.
(Rtings measured the Q7FNA as high as 2270 Nits and it has superb blacks and contrast for an edge lit LCD.)
The Q60R will have wider colour gamut being a QLED and better blacks / contrast than the RU8000. The RU8000 is marginally thinner. Peak brightness on Q60 as per rtings is 439 Nits. And being a 2019 QLED it has wide viewing angles. So I would say the Q60 is better.

I’ll bite at £800 on the RU8000
Having missed out on the £855 deal through C&M and I think Samsung discount portal also had 25% off them at one point in August.

Let’s see what Black Friday brings.

What does 2.1 give you?

120 Hz 4k, variable rate refresh and eARC. First two are really mainly gamer focused. eARC is better sound passthrough, but there's ways around it.

I thought hdmi was now 2.2 for 4k stuff. Are the numbers going down now?

That's HDCP which is the copy protection.

Latest HDMI is 2.1 which is incoming on latest TVs though 2.0 is fine for most people which came in with 4k @ 60fps.

Stop making me try and spend my money.
Hot from me.
Good TVs when they work. Samsung aftercare however is a completely different kettle of fish, buy with caution.
Need 65 Oled or 75 Qled... Prices need to go down before BF
these QLED range have amazing picture quality, super vibrant, punchy colors and deepest blacks of any non OLED TV.
highly recommend!
This price is a bargain for 55" QLED.I bought my 55 Q7F for £1300.

Please be wary from an avid qled user... Night time user and gamer, even though you can set the picture on point depending on what you watch, i alot of the time when i change my game i need to retune my picture setting until i get it to look very good or to a point i just say "thatll do" reason for all that was viewing angle... The picture only looks good if your watching from centre or a bit off angle also make sure the tv is slightly above your eye level from where you sit.. it else this tv looks like any other tv and nothing special

The major negative IMO for Sony from previous experience is their OS it’s slow and clunky. Not too much of a deal breaker if you have Sky TV or Virgin I guess.

It's not to bad on android 8 but yes it's slower than web os and tizen. I think they said android is resource hungry

Guess it's because they're VA panels, and one of the main drawbacks Vs OLED.
Maybe but honestly after 1.5 year usage am looking to trade ot with someone who has oled

Paid £1k for my Q7F a while ago..It's okay, has hideous light bleed due to the vertical columns on dark scenes, so if there's a black background with a white element on the left half of the screen, half of the screen will be lit by the backlights from the bottom and it looks awful!!. FALD better of course, but was 2x the price and still has blooming etc just in 2 dimensions.

Colour vibrancy is amazing though - the loading screen for Red Redemption 2 on PS4 with HDR looks so colourful and bright. Hard to explain unless you've seen it in person.

mine has no detectable light bleed!zero! in fact the main reason I opted for high end LED TV was that I couldn’t stand light bleed on cheaper TVs.
I often watch movies in pitch black dark room and again can’t really see any light bleed!
I even demoed a higher end Sony (forgot the model but was on par / same price) but this beat it in terms of black levels and colour.

I have 2 x XF9005 and 2 x Q7F one of which is 75".....I prefer the Samsung's much more, Much better OS... 10 x better OS.... I prefer the picture, and the sound is Much better than the Sony which is very poor, the magic remote is 10 x better than the Sony, and it's Bluetooth, half the time the Sony's IR remote don't respond unless you point it deliberately at the screen, the Sony takes a few seconds to think every time you press a button, I prefer the blacks on the Samsung, and colours are better on Samsung, and the FALD nonsense.... Don't forget the XF9305 is edge lit and was a model above the FALD XF9005....

Samsung doesn't go near Sony's picture processing that's a fact. Sony is best in industry for it. and + LG oled's wipe the floor with both of them. oled far superior to QLED LCD panels. it isn't even a comparison

Yeah i had sony before, xf8099 or something.. only good thing was it was android and i could install kodi but even the the os was so laggy that i ended up just connect my tablet because it was quicker to get that ready compare to loading it on the sony tv... Picture was so cloudy when i first got it but after few picture settings from google i got it to managable state but honest at that time it was 600pound tv and for that price i was baffled, so thats why i opted for a qled

That's fixed in the 2019 QLEDs. And as an owner of both, it's really not an issue in a normal room / seating arrangement. You have to be viewing from circa 60 degrees plus off centre to notice much of a difference.

Lol what a ridiculous thing to say and call it a “fact”.clearly you haven’t owned a QLED or even a top of the range Sony.
Samsung QLED is better than Sony’s equivalent in price LED range.(unless you wanna spend twice).
and it has nothing to do with picture processing.
I bought both Q7 and Sony’s equivalent model tested at home (I was that picky) and QLED easily beat the Sony.
prior to that I never even owned a Samsung TV just Sonys and Panasonics so would have preferred the Sony to be the winner but QLED colours, black levels specially, anti glare coating and brightness simply couldn’t be matched be Sony.

OLED is a complete different argument and I don’t get into that,as it has it’s own pros and cons.

Vincent from HDTV test quoted. “ The onboard X1 Extreme chipset delivers the best in-TV upscaling we’ve seen from consumer-grade televisions, presenting crisp detail with minimal ringing even from standard-definition material. I meant the upscaling from the chipset. I think Samsung’s after sales/warranty is garbage hence the bad blood with them check online and everyone has issues with them
