So many fear burn in and go for the Sammys. Look they are good TV's but for me and respected reviewers its night and day when coming up against an OLED. I have had B6, B7 etc and will be buying a C9 in Black Friday hopefully. The 9 series LG (USA has firmware update already) Is getting an update to offer NVIDIA G-Sync which for me also as PC gamer with NV card is fantastic. Once I went OLED i really cant see me ever going back. Minor issues with Banding on the 6 and 7 but understand less on the 9. I love it and one of my favourite all time purchases.

If you see an offer on a C9, please help a brother out and let me know! I'm in the market for the same and that TV cannot be beat in its current price range

Yeah. i'm looking everyday and i'd post if i find one. Seems that its hard to get in 1st on such a deal on HOTUKD nowadays. Always someone in front! My feeling is B9 £899-£1000. C9 £1200-£1300. Not long to wait...

I know a guy who's just bought a 55 c9 and 65 c9 from richer sounds last week. Do you think they will past date price match a bf deal.
Don't confuse this with the Q80R in the USA. This is a lower spec.
for me it's between this and the B9/C9 too. It's going in a very bright room, lot's of windows and will need wide viewing angles. Any thoughts on which will be better?
I'm also after the B9, I had my mind set on the 70R from previous deal and went to JL over the weekend to have a look again, but the difference is amazing, with LG you really get something new! At work we have a deal with LG and I can get the 55 B9 for £999, but I have the impression that other companies will have similar price on black friday.

This or ideally the Q85R which has better peak brightness.

Lol, I know, I won't get that because I'm waiting to see what Black Friday will bring. Not much I'd buy at John Lewis, so I'm not too cut up about it.
Need the 65Q70 for £1000
The 65 C9 looks a lot smaller than the Samsung QLED 65 inch tvs.. even though the screens are the same size

The q85r merely has a 1 connect box... the tele is fundamentally the same from everything I’ve read
I'm after a C9 mainly because it seems to have superior upscaling compared to other TVs including the B9. As someone who watches HD broadcasts that's really important as it seems the quality on other TVs would not match my 9 year old Sony.

What's your biting point ? I got one for £1,300 but thinking of returning and waiting for better offer . Still unopened as refurbing house.
I'm not sure too be honest! I've just going to see what black Friday deals there are. Having said that the best deals always seem to be before black Friday!
Cold because I would never buy from these crooks again. Absolute sharks if you get an issue, lots of quibbling and will lie to cover their own backsides. Just my experience but never again.

I read a tech review recently that said Samsung QLED is now superior in picture quality to LG OLED. I'm not sure about this one in particular as I think they were talking about the QN range in particular. It was only one review though so I'm not saying it's a fact, just a review of the latest sets on offer from both parties
If you're buying this for gaming, I'd check that this is a HDMI 2.1 version (which I don't believe it is) as this is will likely be the benchmark for getting the most out of the PS5 and Project Scarlett next year if 120fps gaming does indeed see the light of day. Both consoles have been slated to be 8K capable, but I personally wouldn't be too concerned about that. I'm quite interested to see if games manage to utilise 120hz TVs though, although I'm guessing this maybe something to be exploited on the PS5 Pro and X models when they launch further down the line. 4K at 120fps seems a bit optimistic for AAA titles, but HDMI 2.1 would be my prerequisite for a new TV right now.
I don't think this TV has Freesat HD

Q85R has more dimming zones apparently.

You've read incorrectly.

The UK version of the Q85R has double the number of dimming zones and higher peak brightness.

And it has the 1 Connect Box.

This doesn't have HDMI 2.1 (It's HDMI 2.0b) but they do say it still has the majority of the capabilities associated with the standard, such as VRR, ALLM and 4K at up to 120Hz

It's definitely a weird ommision though and will probably stop me buying it.

This is where advertising is deceptively misleading. Whilst the TV is fully capable of 4K at 120Hz, you can't run 4K higher than 60hz without HDMI 2.1, there's not enough bandwidth in 2.0 to support it. It's like advertising a car as having a 300hp engine when the inlet and exhaust is restricting that power to 150bhp. They can technically say it, but it's not actually true.
