Picture perfect

From action-packed blockbusters to tense cup matches, bring the excitement into your living room with the Samsung QE55Q80RATXXU 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR QLED TV. Powered by the Quantum 4K Processor and Q HDR 1500 technology, you'll enjoy true-to-life colour with the brightest and darkest shades in the same frame.

Samsung QLED TVs feature 100% Colour Volume, showing off the full richness of every colour on screen. And thanks to the Ultra Viewing Angle, you can sit anywhere and still enjoy the same stunning picture. You won't be distracted by the glare of sunlight either, so there's no need to draw the curtains.

Seamless integration into your smart home

Your Samsung Q80R QLED TV isn't just for entertainment - it also manages your smart home. From your fridge freezer to your thermostat, control the essentials from the comfort of the sofa with Bixby and SmartThings. With all your connected devices on one easy-to-navigate screen, doing the chores has never been so hassle free.

And that's not all Bixby can do. With voice control, you can find out what the weather's like, change the channel or even review your schedule just by asking. It's compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa too, making setup that much easier.

Find shows tailored for you

Spend less time searching for stuff, and more time watching new shows. The Samsung Q80R QLED TV has a Universal Guide, which recommends popular shows that everyone's watching, and movies you're bound to love. You'll get the same, huge choice, without endless navigation.

Blend your TV into your décor

Even when you're not watching anything, your TV can still look great. Ambient Mode turns your TV into a decorative feature, so you can display family photos, or let the screen blend into its surroundings. A blank screen is a thing of the past.

Lightning fast reactions

Level up and compete with a TV that's on your side. Game Enhancer mode minimises the time between pressing a button on your console controller and the resulting action on screen. That means you're able to shoot, dodge, accelerate or brake exactly when you want to.

Really nice picture and great sound.
Purchased mine direct from Samsung on unidays but died after a couple of hours but still want a new one with a proper warranty like this one

The smart remote even controls the virgin v6 box including menus recording everything
Even turns the xbox on for you and changes the channel and selects game mode

Could you get them to price match the sticker price down to £899 and then use the £50 reduction to get it for £849?

Still £100 more than getting it through Samsung's staff promotion but the warranty would make it worth considering.

Yes

Yes

Thats pretty bad when everyone offers 5 years minimum. That will be why you struggle to find the warranty length on page.

I got ther Q80a while back, had to go back, issues with sound dropping while connected to Samsung sound bar, also issues with wifi connection not recognising router, try all online advice and tips, couldn't resolve. Lovely telly thou, for an LED picture suberb quality, viewed at an angle is really good.
Good luck
Very cheeky of Samsung to call their tv’s “QLED” when they are not OLED panels, only one manufacturer makes OLED panels, that’s LG, Samsung just increase the brightness and turn on motion smoothing to confuse consumers.
Seems a little too close in price to the LG OLED posted here just the other day.

Uh?! They're calling it "QLED", not "OLED". What's the problem with that???

Eh? Lol

QLED's is Samsungs own technology. In fact alot QLED sets receive better reviews than OLEDs

£80 more for the Q85 (code TV20) , but you get an extra £100 to spend on a soundbar or TV

Or save £80 and pay for this TV which is more less the same as Q85 apart from one extra connect box and they look identical anyway.

Depends , if you want to get another TV in the deal its an extra £100 towards a better model up the range

Think the 85 has more dimming zones and is brighter as well

Does anyone know if you can get the Smart IPTV app from the Samsung App Store for this TV?

Yes 1 year and not the best to deal with real language barrier.
They couldn't even tell me if they could replace it, next time I'll be shopping at richersounds

Gutted as it was 749 with student discount
But I suspect these are refurbished QC failures hence the huge discount
The delivery was something you would expect from hermes a battered van and two clowns dressed in casual clothes even their device to sign for delivery was smashed

The Q stands for quantum dot and is nothing to do with OLED

Just a lemon 🍋 then
Fingers crossed as I'm waiting on a refund and then buying it from richer
I've ordered this today.

I've been trying to decide for ages what TV I wanted and I nearly went for the Q85 but opted for this instead because I couldn't bring myself to spend another £80. This is the best TV I've ever bought and I hope I get a good 5-6 years out of it. My old Panasonic has served me for 8.
What is the general experience with Netflix, Dolby vision? I know it's not listed as being supported but is it still good?

From what I’ve read, the 85 is well worth £80

They’re all good. Similarly I started with the Q7 but decided to pay extra for the Q8 because of the better blacks and viewing angles.

Q9 is awesome but just too much. I feel guilty spending £900 on my TV. The most is ever spent before was £600! 😳

Our first TV was a top of the range Philips 32” CRT, it was on sale at £1300 so I’ve got that to use as leverage for the Q9
I'm still undecided on this or a c9....

My room is pretty dark, but the kids leave the Xbox on unattended for hours at a time.

In my viewing conditions the LG is the better TV, but I don't know if I can take 1- the risk of screen burn, and 2- the risk of the blue oleds dying given my current LG led has lasted for 12 years thus far......
I would love a C9 , im holding out for a good deal on one but they never seem to be on offer !
I have heard stories about the coating on QLEDs getting damaged quite easily, for example during careful cleaning. See for example: avforums.com/thr…67/ . Does anyone here have any experience with this? Thanks!
