Picture perfect

From action-packed blockbusters to tense cup matches, bring the excitement into your living room with the Samsung QE55Q80RATXXU 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR QLED TV. Powered by the Quantum 4K Processor and Q HDR 1500 technology, you'll enjoy true-to-life colour with the brightest and darkest shades in the same frame.

Samsung QLED TVs feature 100% Colour Volume, showing off the full richness of every colour on screen. And thanks to the Ultra Viewing Angle, you can sit anywhere and still enjoy the same stunning picture. You won't be distracted by the glare of sunlight either, so there's no need to draw the curtains.

Seamless integration into your smart home

Your Samsung Q80R QLED TV isn't just for entertainment - it also manages your smart home. From your fridge freezer to your thermostat, control the essentials from the comfort of the sofa with Bixby and SmartThings. With all your connected devices on one easy-to-navigate screen, doing the chores has never been so hassle free.

And that's not all Bixby can do. With voice control, you can find out what the weather's like, change the channel or even review your schedule just by asking. It's compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa too, making setup that much easier.

Find shows tailored for you

Spend less time searching for stuff, and more time watching new shows. The Samsung Q80R QLED TV has a Universal Guide, which recommends popular shows that everyone's watching, and movies you're bound to love. You'll get the same, huge choice, without endless navigation.

Blend your TV into your décor

Even when you're not watching anything, your TV can still look great. Ambient Mode turns your TV into a decorative feature, so you can display family photos, or let the screen blend into its surroundings. A blank screen is a thing of the past.

Lightning fast reactions

Level up and compete with a TV that's on your side. Game Enhancer mode minimises the time between pressing a button on your console controller and the resulting action on screen. That means you're able to shoot, dodge, accelerate or brake exactly when you want to.

Anyone own this TV and can say how the quality is etc?
If it was the Q85R I'd be all over it, but not quite convinced by the Q80R, especially as it's £899 elsewhere.

I've heard mixed reviews too, it seems that Samsung are not satisfied with trying to dupe us with QLED, they also want to dupe us with models too??

Don't get the one connect box with this one either
I have no idea what all the various different terms mean regarding the massive range of TV'S and appreciate all the commets on HUKD. Most of us only purchase a TV when the last one dies, which can be many years between purchases. Thank you HUKD members for all your help.

I have this tv, paid £800 from Samsung via my employee discount portal. I think it’s great, I’ve been watching uhd content from Netflix and amazon and the blacks are really good and vibrant colours. I have a standard PS4 and it looks good and handles motion well. The tv handles reflections pretty well as mine is currently facing a large bay window. Overall I am happy with my purchase, although I don’t have much to compare it too. I think you will be able to get a better deal than £999 otherwise you have the option of some of the LG Oleds at that price
I think the difference between 80r and 85r is the one connect box and it is £899 on amazon.

I think theres a fair bit more than just the one connect, I think it has a better screen and more dimming zones, I'm sure that this one has blooming issues, the Q85 and Q9 are better (hence why I think its wrong to have a Q6, Q7, Q8, Q8.5 and a Q9. This one is cheap for a reason (albeit still a damn good TV )

That's not the only difference. The 85R is superior.

The 85R reaches 1500 nits of brightness compared to 1000 for the 80R but more importantly the 85R has 100 dimmable zones while the 80R has only half that number.

Actually, you initiated the convo when you repeated the post above yours, it’s not rocket science, or maybe it is to some? I’ll bow out now and click on the mute button, you’re too much like hard work and clearly just want a friend.... happy new year and goodnight

Don't get too excited about the 6 month's Spotify to take a bit off the purchase price - struggling to shift my code at £10!
