Samsung do not produce Oled TV's anymore, qled is their alternative format these days.

You have to sign up to the vip club (basically just mailing list) it’s free I believe just look on the website you occasionally get a bit of money off too they used to do some good competitions but stopped recently. Offers are via email once or twice a week.
Don't see how anyone could spend £1400 on an LCD when you can have OLED for the same £. (For those who don't know, QLED is still an LCD.)

And OLED is still a TV, what's your point?

OLED's strong points won't benefit everyone's viewing habits, LCDs are still a better choice for many. I'd personally go for a Sony XE93 LCD, rather than a B7 OLED. (if I watched any 4K content anyway, right now I wouldn't buy either).

I'd say with LCD's, they have had over 10 years now to fix the issues and some of these still haven't been solved. OLED is still new by comparison but already delivers better performance in most areas. I wouldn't say LCD's are a better choice for many, only a few. If LCD's were cheaper and you are on a budget, fair enough. This here though is the same price, for the same size of screen.

It doesn't matter about the past and future, only the models available right now.

OLEDs are strong in two areas. They provide better contrast in a dark room and they provide less picture degradation when viewed from an angle. They may also be better in future at motion due to their instant pixel response, but current implementations (on the B7 at least) is behind a good LCD in that area. LCDs like the XE93 are also twice the brightness and much better in a well lit room.

Agreed regarding now, models and content.

An LCD may be able to go twice as bright as OLED, but OLED can go more than twice as dark as LCD. That's why the contrast looks better on OLED and colours pop more, (and never look washed out,) without needing to be bright. I had a week with an LCD a year ago and viewing everything brighter simply led to eye fatigue and trouble sleeping. With the OLED, I'm getting even more contrast and no issues sleeping. I also live in a, "well lit," living room. For most people and most content, OLED provides the best colour/contrast today. For gamers on the other hand, LCD all the way.

Screen burn not a concern? If watching sky sports a lot can imagine that logo burning in?

Before this TV I owned 2 LG plasmas which were far worse for risk of Image retention and never had much problems with football matches for instance. On the Plasmas, you could still see the ghost for around 10 minutes after a match but running normal TV would always clean things up. As long as you are not gaming for hours on end without giving the screen a rest, I wouldn't be too concerned with OLED. Think about all those mobile phones with OLED displays that are at far more risk than a TV? Also remember that anything Sky inherently comes with lots of adverts which gives the screen a rest.

I was happy with the way blacks looked on high end LEDs about 4 years ago, but the way OLED can show fireworks, explosions etc takes it to another level. The first thing I think of when watching tv isn't I wish it was blacker.

Thing is other than their wallpaper tv, LG have a very poor oled mounting design, stick out far too much

Qled will only suit people who want to wear sunglasses while watching tv. No comparison with Oled.
