Use code BF500 and get the Samsung QE55Q8FAM for only £1299.99. I'm not here to rage a debate about OLED vs this QLED but it's a decent set for a great price.

5 Year Warranty with Peter Tyson included but remember to register on Samsung's website for the warranty with them and the 10 year screen burn warranty my-samsung.com/uk/…rs/

Heat! So far below the next best prices.

Do you think its a mistake that BF500 is still working? They are advertising code TV300 now, only enough to bring it down to £1,499, matching others.

There's the Google cache from when they had it priced at £1,999 with BF500: webcache.googleusercontent.com/sea…=uk
Go to your link and it's

£1799

then

'Take an extra £300.00 off our price - use code TV300 at the cart page'

Which makes £1499 or am I missing something?

Wow yeah, is this working on any telly then?

This is like 100's more than I planned on spending for the bedroom but I am so so tempted the missus really will castrate me if I do

Edit: nope it does not, even that TV300 don't work on the 55 inch Q7,I'd weigh on 800 quid for the bedroom but £1300 is way too much, no matter how good a deal shaving a monkey off 1800 quid is

The debate is usually Samsung's QLED range vs. Sony's XE9 range, OLEDs are a completely different technology with a different set of trade-offs.
This is a fantastic price. This TV sold on ebay for 1899 last month!

Same boat as Chasroyal. However whilst youre injuries heal you'll be watching a great tele.

Got a 65 inch XE9005 in the front room and really have been searching for something decent for the bedroom for ages now but the Q8 is too decent can get the 55 inch Q7 from John Lewis for 1150 quid which is still too much, had this BF500 code worked on that model it would already be bought but it don't so the search continues hohum

Honestly wondering how this is:

As it is highly likely to be the same LG panel that they use throughout their OLED range.

Even sat here, thinking about returning all the Lego we got from JL before Christmas(what we ain't opened) as a way of counteracting the £1300 price but I still can't justify it, she will have me meat and two veg with a very sharp pair of snips
She wants a decent spec telly in the bedroom for streaming and the Sky Q minibox but just got to sit tight and put faith in JL having a great deal on one of these Q models in the next partner extravaganza come March.

I just can't bring myself to buy Lucky Goldstar and I have never heard of ElectriQ, nor am I in the market for OLED either. Also I have no shame in being a brand snob so it really is a case of one of the big S's for me, Sony or Samsung

I'd rather buy an LG 55EG9A7 now Ebuyer are selling them, you get the benefits of better SDTV and known disadvantages.
Looking for 65" at this price. It was selling few days back but they realized it too quickly and removed a promo code

It's very tempting. I think this is the first sub £1k OLED TV I have come across.

SDTV is banned in our house apart from me mum's room seeing insists on watching the pigs from Sun Hill and Minder on ITV3 all the time so it's not that much of an issue. Though I must I admit any standard def stuff on the big Sony in the front room looks shockingly poor, hence it's banned lol

You do notice the difference from a 65 to a 55 massively, though that's because we've got used to having a 65 for the last 9 months or so. If you're upgrading from a smaller set it will still seem huge I'd have thought, this is a lot of telly for 1300 quid if you're after it
Cold. Samsung doing an LG. This isn't a QLED TV, just a bog standard LCD TV with a fancy filter in front. QLED sets still some years off. Still, at least it's 4k.

Just buy an OLED imo, it still looks better outside of the shop floor.

I find it strange you insult LG but are happy to go for Samsung that literally named their TV's QLED to fool customers?

I insult Lucky Goldstar because as a lifelong cricket fan I associate their brand with Tamil Tiger attacks against the Sinhalese majority in Sri Lanka, oh and also because I have just always considered them that bit down market compared to other brands if you wish to take it there.

I apologise if my dislike for the firm is down to something that bit deeper than Samsung QLED existing to 'fool customers' but hey I guess I am a rather deep and political person and before anyone tries sticking their oar in I am not suggesting Lucky Goldstar have ever endorsed let alone financed sick terrorist serial killers.

Supposedly in the interests of diversity Lucky Goldstar chose to have their Sri Lankan hub in the most rabid Tamil nationalist manor in the country back in the day and just you always saw their billboards/branding around northern areas on news footage whenever the tigers had committed yet another atrocity.

So you get back to fighting the OLED cause against the QLED forces of darkness and I'll get on with concerning myself about matters a trifle more serious, happy new year
So anyway. Back to the TV
Do you think anywhere like R S or J L will price match this?
Thanks

Highly unlikely on JL as they don't honour discount codes as far as I know, if they did we'd be looking at getting this telly for under 1150 quid but it's still a good 400 more than I'd like to shell out so nothing to tickle my fancy.

My highlighter pen has marked the 55 inch Q7 as the most likely candidate for the bedroom purchase at some point in the Spring, ideally at around 700 quid ish

It's a bit more complicated than that on the JL and discount codes front.

JL won't price match a third party discount code, but they will price match if the code is published on the retailer's website at the point of purchase.

The problem here is that this code used to be available at the point of purchase, but now seems to have been withdrawn, albeit it is still working.

If this is the deal for you, but you want to get it from JL then it might well be worth putting in a price match request using the Google cache I linked to above.

What's the reason RS won't price match? My understanding is that they will usually accept 5 year warranties and as long as you can prove the price with the code they will match.

I just ordered the LG OLED55C7V from Curry's. £2000 down to £1499, I'm lucky enough to have gotten my sisters staff discount as she works in Carphone Warehouse, ask about, any CPW or Curry's staff will give you their discount card to swipe at point of sale. Worked out £1350 for me to get this cracking set and the sales guy was rather generous and threw in a hdmi 2.0 cable and a picture perfect ultra HD disc.

I missed an opportunity during Black Friday on the B7 at PC World / Curry’s £1499 with 10% code to take it to £1350 and with 8% off when purchasing instant vouchers through work took it to £1248!! They had sold out early and never re-stocked before the offer ended.

QLED isn't out yet. This is still LCD tech but with marketing speak. Sure it's pretty good, just not OLED good. When proper QLED sets appear in 2019/2020 then it'll make the market interesting.

Why are you mentioning LCD?
hantshog28 m ago

Why are you mentioning LCD?

OK, a little research shows that LED TVs are actually LCD TVs that use LEDs as a back light ... en.wikipedia.org/wik…lay. The QLED that Samsung uses is Photo-luminescence as opposed to pure Electro-luminescence QLED which is years away... flatpanelshd.com/new…405. Hence why they refer to Samsung as fudging QLED to compete with OLED. Geeky bit is now over.
In case you missed the deal and regret it: Bought this QE55Q8FAM but changed my mind and will likely return it. Maybe someone would like to buy mine. Would give it away for 1250 GBP.
