I chose the Q90R.

The difference is so minor for gaming. It wasn't worth the risk of screen burn in as I've seen it happen.

The warranty won't cover you if you get it, plenty of games have static images.

Lol I'm trying to decide between the two.
I have a 27 inch qLED monitor it's only 8 bit and it looks amazing so I'm really tempted to go for a big qled with HDR 2000 and then there's no risk of burn in. Hmmm

Yeah I know but I'll be one of the unlucky people who ends up with burn in and then can't get the panel replaced I just know it lol.
I've read online, that in gaming mode the TV settings are changed obviously to make the response time low. The quality is very apparent and I don't think it's worth it for gaming alone. Great TV and all though, just not sure if the gaming side is enough for this price.

I have qe55q80r and qe75q90r / there's not a lot between them tbh / q90r has a bit more pop in hdr, but that's about it. Certainly wouldn't be shelling out a lot of money for a minor upgrade. Hope this helps.

OK thanks for the info mate I paid roughly the same price as this for the Q80 last year q90 was 1500 at the time seems a good deal was just wondering how much better than the 80 it really was, thanks mate

The picture is mind blowing, its incredible. I use it for the PS4, Switch and hopefully the PS5 soon!

The only issue I have is that sometimes it doesn't switch source when I turn on the console...
Thanks, OP. Ordered. Was just about to pay £1199 to John Lewis. So great to get it for £1099 with extras too.
Anyone seen the difference in real life between this Q90R and the newer Q90T?

Which TV model?
OLED is too much of a hassle. I just can't imagine paying so much for a TV that I can't just do what I want with. The picture is fantastic but I want to be able to play the same game 6 hours a day and watch some sky sports news. I don't really do either of those things but I want to be able to if I choose to.

Yes the main, price difference about 500 pounds higher than q90r. The q90r is more premium than q95t ( that the newer model number)

Lol, I'm meant in picture quality between the top r and t, I'm really after a 65 inch but no q90rs left at decent price, just missed it at richer sounds, so wondered if I'm better waiting for the 65 inch t to drop or go for this.

I'm aware that the new top t isn't as good with less backlight arrays, hence my question.

I know what you mean though. Spending all that money on a TV then you have to babysit it. Not for me but lots of folk love them
Have Samsung resolved the issue of poor backlight blooming in Game Mode? I heard they were going to resolve this with an update. Seen some videos showing serious blooming issues so this has swayed me to go with the C9 OLED.
Wanting this but 65 inch, I’ve got a Samsung ks8000 55 inch . I have found a q85r 65 inch for extra £200 but will the picture not be anywhere near as good being the q85r instead of 90r. Both come with the one box which my current one has .

Or shall I just swap 55 for 55 inch. Anyone upgraded from a ks8000 to a q90 or q85? Was it worth it. I usually upgrade then think afterwards that was a bit of a waste of cash unless the screen gets bigger

I've replaced my KS8000 with the Q90R and in terms of picture quality there isn't much difference between the too. The Q90R is definitely brighter, but overall picture hasn't improved much since the KS8000, which is still excellent.

The stand is better on the Q90 and the UI is much snappier, but overall I wouldn't be rushing to upgrade from the KS8000.

Excellent thank you very much for your advice, I won’t bother then. It did it a few years ago from a fs8500 46 inch to the ks8000 55 inch and I still think the fs8500 has a better picture, maybe as it’s smaller but I didn’t see much improvement just size. Was thinking q90r was a massive upgrade but obviously not. Thanks
This is a great TV but its not perfect. It still hasn't received the promised earc update after nearly 18 months and it has serious lip sync issues.
