55"? If OLED screen burn isn't a worry for you the LG B9 can be gotten for under £1k and is generally the best reviewed. If it is a worry then the yes probably the Q85r

The Sony Xg9505 is up there too. Philips oled picture will have better blacks but risk of burn in and the basoc saphi OS. Samsung q85r is a good choice, Sony has better motion handling that the Samsung and Philip's and the Sony XG95 has better colour out of the box. I Recently bought the Sony and it and it's a great TV.
I do think the q90r is the best non OLED TV you can buy but it was a bit out of my budget. I paid £800 for the XG95 55 inch a couple of weeks ago.

Philips 854 comes with andriod tv
I can’t justify this price tag when you can get the C9 for cheaper. Maybe it’s just me, but this should be under 1000.00.

Yes, not the 754 though which was the TV Konrados mentioned.

I agree but this TV was something ridiculous at release something like £3k so at this price it's a great deal. I do agree it's expensive and you can get Panasonic, Sony and LG OLEDs for the same price or cheaper, but this is Samsung's 2019 flagship TV with a ridiculous number of local dimming zones (over 200 I believe). I love OLED screens but I couldn't risk the burn in. I have kids and there programmes all have fixed logos on for hours so was a no go. I do however fing that the picture on the Q85r, Q90R and the XG95 are great LED LCD TVs as an alternative. they do have some advantages over OLED. If I had an extra £450 I would have definitely got the Q90R.

Please tell me where I can get the c9 cheaper?
Any decent 48-50 inch 100hz around? I can't quite fit 55 with out speaker upgrades.

The C9 is much better if you can afford it. Better processor etc.

I am aware as I have the C9 I didnt correlate the prices here and I forgot that the C9 was indeed under £1200...

This can hit well over 3,000 Nits peak brightness - circa 3x the C9, has a wider colour gamut, and a way better anti reflection coating. Unless you watch TV in a dark room, the Q90R is a visibly better viewing experience for HDR material. Better motion handling than the C9 too.

Then again the C9 has better viewing angles, response time, input lag, has G-sync, eArc. The q90 has poor colour accuracy and has no Dolby Atmos, DTS:X. No official hdmi 2.1 here either.
bought this today from richer sound who price match and took 20quid off, 5 days delivery boom
c9 might be better but this still great, I cancel c9 order as feat of burning due to viewing habits

Only marginally better viewing angles. That's going to be an notable difference for like 1% of buyers.

Samsung has Auto Low Latency mode and supports Freesync 2 / 120Hz and eArc. And the Q90R beats a C9 for input lag too.

Zero point in "supporting" DTSX or Atmos in a TV with 2 speakers.

And seeing as the QLED can actually reach over 1000 nits there is far less need for a bodge like Dolby Vision that you desperately need on OLEDs to remap the inferior peak brightness so you don't loose highlights.

The C9 is the best gaming tv around for this price. The input lag is 14ms compared to 16ms on the Samsung . The response time is also 4 times better on the panel. The Qled is much brighter but it loses out on the contrast and lets be honest who will have the TV right in front of the window... The c9 is the better all round Tv.

LOL the inpuy lag on the Samsung is as low as 5.9ms according to rtings. WAY ahead of a C9.

And why then do the reviews say that that Q90R renders detail better in very dark picture areas than the C9?

The fact is that a Q90R can render movies much closer to what they were meant to look like than an OLED. A quick look shows that a C9 can barely exceed 800 Nits.

40785411-Ly2yl.jpgC9 is on the right... seems to have better input lag....Don't know why the reviews say that but the Oled is better in darker environments always. The oled is the best option regardless for gaming. If you want balanced use then either are good.

And the bits you missed that beat the C9 hands down when used with an Xbox or PC graphics card:

The C9 doesn't get close to the lowest figure of 5.9ms for a Q90R.

40785497.jpg
Oh and according to rtings, 120Hz at 4K doesn't even work on the C9. Neither does Freesync. It works only with nvidia gsync which is utterly irrelevant to TVs seeing as no consoles support it. Even Nvidia are rolling out Freesync support

If you watch straight on you can't notice blooming unless you got off centre. I watch HDR via 4k blu rays, Disney plus, Netflix etc. I think it's a great TV for the money.

That's why I didn't go OLED, Cbeebies is on for several hours a day. I was going for a B9 but settled on the Sony XG9505. If I had an extra £450 I would have definitely gone for this.

Think positively though, this in an excellent flagship TV that was originally about £3k at release. How much would an LG E9 have cost now, still about £3k,lol so I'd enjoy it and not worry about burn in while the Mrs binges the news channel:)

Just finished getting it up on the wall not had chance to mess about with the settings. The brightness is the first thing that hits you ! I’m also impressed with the sound I wasn’t expecting much but it’s much punchier and clear than the Sony KD-55XD9305 that it’s replaced.
