My soul needs this
Bear in mind that the only real difference between this and the Q70R is the coating that provides better viewing angles. It's not the same model as the Q80R in the USA.

The equivalent UK model, with the extra dimming zones and peak brightness, is the Q85R.

Also worth noting the LG B9 will most likely come down to somewhere near this in the coming sales.

Apparently even Samsung's UK customer care are a bit flakey on the differences, but it's discussed here...

I came across the details after considering the Q80R and now I'm hoping the Q85R gets reduced over Black Friday.

I'm after the 659Q90R, and that's got 125 off too. However, I prefer John Lewis for most things electric and expensive. They have 100 off via gift card. I can't see this TV coming down in price before Xmas. What to do.

Well it's unlikely to go up so I'd at least wait a couple weeks see how the prices are nearer BF.
Q85r is 1500!! Why to pay more for this??
