what are the diffent between OLED and QLED?

OLED is the future of TV tech. QLED is a marketing gimmick devised by Samsung to con unsuspecting consumers with stupidly high price tags. There is no comparison other the acronyms look similar - purposely so

Anyone know how good this is? better than current OLED from lg e7 models? or better than Q7?

Strange that there's no reviews on it, nor is it sold at any major retailer that I can see...

Popular opinion suggests the LG OLEDs are better than QLEDs. But this still might be good.

The missus will kill me...

Not even close. This is an edge lit LED with poor dimming. The price is still too high.

do you have any links etc to reviews of this? Im really tempted hence want more info

I've done quite a bit of research on this, so basically LG OLED's (2017 versions) are better in terms of black contrast than QLEDs. QLEDs have a larger range of colours and are brighter than LG OLEDs. I believe there is a Sony OLED out there that offers similar colour performance to the QLED but from I've read the LG's lag slightly behind. So all in all, probably the OLED is marginally better in terms of picture (which stands to reason given the tech) however, all the reviews I have read of the QLED's have been very positive so I'm happy to go with this personally.

Hope that helps!!

From the reviews I've read, the difference in colour performance favours the samsung... however, the black contrast is better on the OLEDs. But I think, given the reviews of the TV in and of itself, it is actually a very good TV and at 1800 is a great price IMHO

I have the 49" Q7F great TV. My room barely takes the 49 size wise, couldn't imagine 65!

Great deal for a 65 inch QLED

that's the q8c... ie curved which has a poorer screen performance than the flat screen version... just an FYI based on what I have read...

Does anyone know if this has Freesat as per q7f? Moving into a new house in February and wonder if these will be cheaper in January

Did you see that Rtings bought a few QLEDs and none actually performed to their stated specs? Also that the fix was to drop the screen - not a joke

Yes has freesat according to specs

Still LED technology which is getting cheap day by day. I would rather go for a few inches less oled model.
