Is this a good deal, I bought a C6 OLED 3 years ago and at that time OLED was gold standard. Have Samsung made any inroads? thanks
This is the one i've been looking at, but so many owners on AVForums suggest that hey have DSE/Banding, it's stopping me from pushing the button.
I'd even be able to take advantage of Samsungs 50% trade in offer.

Somebody convince me.
Beautiful TV just like you Mrswitch.

OLED still beat any led/qled

Including burn in

I have some burn-in on my LG 65"OLED 2016, which is why i'm considering switching. But DSE/Banding would annoy me more than the burn-in that I have, i think. I just can't decide.

Samsung’s QLED blacks are very close to OLED,overall picture quality is very close, and has better brightness, and no risk of inevitable burn in like OLED.
so I wouldn’t dismiss QLED range that easily against OLED.
For anyone who is in denial about OLED TVs burn in drawback watch this un-biased video:

it is a reality.

Don't think there's much difference with the latest QLED especially the top end QLED
If you are in the market, then get this TV, had mine since November and its quality. More or less got it for same price via Unidays.

No OLED is still vastly superior
I don't need convincing that OLED can suffer burn-in, as my set has.

I do need convincing that this top of the line Samsung will be good for watching football on, which is where every other LED I've ever tried suffers from banding mildly/terribly. I realise some people can't don't see it, but I do :-(

I guess if I go ahead and buy one from Amazon, I can always return it if the banding is too bad.

Actually, I just read the terms for Samsung's 50% cash back offer, and I'd need to buy it direct from Samsung.com to be able to claim back the £1000. I'd still be covered by distance selling reg's though right?

Do you mean this as a general comment? I realise that banding/DSE is poor for football. Or are you saying that you have this TV & the banding is bad on it?

Well, I've ordered one (direct from Samsung.com).

If it's ok, I keep it, trade in my current OLED & get £999 cash back, so costs me £1000.

If it's bad, it it gets replaced or refunded.

Let me know how it copes with the footy if you don't mind

Unreal/overreach colours on qled screen

Close but not even similar, oled burn on LG but none on Sony
for the price I must admit that the stand looks like a 43'' cheap TV, wouldn't like to look at stand for hours...maybe it is just me!
also, buy a cheap OLED used , any.... on Ebay and get £1000 cashback via the current samsung promotion . some OLEDs are sold for less than £300.
This has micro stutter, weird cos sports are fine and motion is good, but when watching soaps etc it sometimes judders. Known issue with all Qled’s. The enhancers and sliders make no difference and Samsung seem to have no idea how to fix it.
Watched a detailed review on youtube last night... on the Q90 vs a C9, it was clear that the colours and the blacks on the LG Oled screen were a step ahead, it just looked more detailed and brilliant - vivid I would say. I have a 2014 LG Oled and still today I am amazed at looking at HD/4K content - if you can get the £1000 cashback then it's a deal otherwise I would say go for an OLED if you are after stunning images, if you playing games 24h/7 - then maybe get a Job? :-)

It does have, I think, a minimal amount of banding/clouding, but not really any worse than my current OLED, so early days, but I think i'm going to keep it. The banding is not even close to what I've had on previous Samsung & Sony LCDs that I've had before.I guess the Panel Lottery was fairly good to me this time.
I watched the Chelsea game last night & it didn't seem to bother me, and I kept looking for it.
