I wouldn't, I saw a Youtube vid where a guy challenged their review of the Q70 and he showed exactly where their review fell short, and it did. Always try to see these in the flesh and look for forums where users give their opinion

To be honest I find forums with users opinions very nitpicky and not really justified. Trusted reviews, what hifi, techradar, CNET etc all give this set excellent scores.

Agree with looking in the flesh but my only local option is currys so it is completely pointless

Thing is, with reviews sites, incentives can often creep in and you end up with a bias review. I've not seen "excellent" scores, mainly die to blooming, but its a decent set, the Q85 is worth the extra push by all accounts

It is when they hide all the remotes so you can turn them off dynamic mode with everything cranked up to look like a grainy luminous pen! I wanted to compare the XF9005 to an oled, just wasn't possible.

Haha, yep, they REALLY don't like you getting hold of the remotes!! I have taken a USB stick in before with a movie on and told them I wanted to see it running on the TV... they "couldn't find" the remote

Thats a good idea I might try that

I'll take my universal remote with me too!

Just got one, cant see any blooming, turn off motion enhancer as it made fast moving images blurry. Its a 100 hz panel and works best without motion stuff turned on. Great tv and trust me, iam fussy !

How's the soap opera effect with motion turned on? I'm one of the weirdos who likes it and thinks it adds realness to the picture.
Would always go for a Sony LCD at this price or even oled.

Not sure if Panasonic makes a FALD set anymore, the DX902 was also pretty immense.

I was looking for a Sony but the 850 gets bad reviews
Was thinking of one of these in 65 inch but read reports of bad dse. Any owners confirm this?

It's definitely got blooming issues, the low local dimming zones mean it's inevitable, it's more a case of how bothered you are. I didn't see any blooming on my nu8000 until I started looking at reviews, now I see it, I can live with it, but it's 100% present as it will be on this set

Totally with you there Blades. Turned off all the motion settings on my OLED and motion is now the standard of the plasma it replaced.

Fair do's, its your money, the fact that they are saying its a "Q90 lite" would ring bells to me. They basically say in the review that its a Q90 but then say that it doesn't have any of the key Q90 features..... that's a bit weird, its like saying that a Dacia Duster performs exactly like a Ferrari except its slower and doesn't handle as well?!?! I looked at this set and was put off by the blooming, but I would have thought that most people would think its great.

I don't doubt there are reviewers who take bribes etc but there are too many good reviews for this model for that to be the case here.

What are you considering by the way as this is around my budget too.

I had this price matches at about 674 for the 55 model, but there were two things niggling me, the blooming and the negative user reviews. In all honesty, I think that you can find bad in any tv. I'd sort of made my mind up to go OLED, it now I'd seen the reality of burn in, I'm unsure again!!! I'd also reserved the Sony 9005, that's a great TV and it's cheap now, BUT the reports on input lag put me off, I'm not an avid gamer, but reviews said it wasn't great!! Basically, don't listen to me, I'm useless at making decisions, I THINK I might go for the Q8 or May be the Q85?? My current NU8000 isn't old, and I think the picture is great so the Q7 would be as good if not better, but the Q7 also has a very reflective screen and tight viewing angles which wouldn't be great for my room. So, some time in the next 3yrs I'll get a new one, let me know what you go for, this will be a good TV, I just think that if I'm spending 700 to get a good TV, I might as well spend another 500 and get a great TV????

Hehe. To be honest I'm struggling to justify an upgrade because I have the 65 x930c from Sony and it is fantastic. But I do want larger to appreciate 4k. When I am up close it looks brilliant, but am about 6 feet away and it's not so easy to appreciate the 4k. So I would have to downgrade to get a bigger set.

The XF9005 blooming is pretty bad, unless you lower dynamic constrast, then you may as well just buy an edge-lit TV.

I have just been comparing the 70 80 and 85 in currys. I'm not sure wether they have messed with the settings to make the picture better on the more expensive models, but I was expecting more from the 70. On that basis I would stick to the nu8000. I have a mu 7000 basically the equivalent from the previous year and the 70 isn't enough of a step up. If it was due to foul play with the settings that's one thing. How ever you can tell the difference regarding reflection and viewing angles on the 80 and 85. Which would be worth it. I can currently get a 65inch 85r for £1199 but now swaying towards oled.
