Welcome . My Quidco tracked £12.90.
I won't buy another Samsung washing machine, and probably wont buy another Samsung product after the conversation I had with them today....
All I'll say is if you buy this MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY lots of issues with Samsung washing machines (including mine) between 2-3 years old.

Oh no! I bought one recently from AO. I did register the warranty straight away but I just really hope I don't have any issues. Hate the hassle!!!

Yeah, they seem to be mixing different types of metal which hold the drum in place which is causing a chemical reaction and subsequent weakness. Seems they've been doing it for years. Alot of posts are now covering this, not sure if it is just Samsung, although they seem to be the main manufacturer being mentioned. Google it, there is alot about it.

Very good price for this machine - note the quick drive function which is the reason for the higher price point. Usually around the 600ish mark. Sans that function, can get comparable machines for 350£ish mark as it was exactly what I was eyeing up.
Are the poor reviews inc QUICKDRIVE models ? I suspect not due to warranty offered (10 yrs on higher end ones once they came out) .

I may be wrong but I think most of not all the poor reviews of Samsung washers are for models prior to the quickdrives.

Just make sure you've received an email confirming the 5 year warranty and keep it safe
I'm now putting a claim through my credit card company under Section 75 of the Sale of Goods Act.....

Here is an example of how Samsung ignore their customers - eu.community.samsung.com/t5/…478

Page after page of similar issues and a similar Samsung response

Samsung are terrible especially if your dealing with their non UK based support centre.

Send an email to samsungs ceo. I can get you the link if you wish. Last time I emailed ceo they responded straight away.

Within 15minutes of receiving ceo reply a manager called to offer refund.

I did and this was the response.... they make it sound very straightforward, they make no reference to the 5 year warranty I was entitled too.... anyway I don't want to hijack this thread with my issues. I have countered this response without success so I'm letting my Credit Card company have a try now.

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your email and providing us with the proof of purchase.

Upon looking at the receipt we do note the purchase date is 28/03/2016, making your machine nearly 3 years old therefore making the device a year out of warranty.

Firstly, we wish to recognise that to suffer a fault at any time with a Samsung product is extremely unfortunate and we apologise both for this and the subsequent inconvenience that this causes.

As the manufacturer Samsung would hope that none of our products fail. However, when dealing with electronic components this is not realistic and thus we support our products within the terms of the stated

warranty period which for our Washing Machines is 24-months.

If a product fails outside of the appointed warranty period and there is no provision in place for any extended warranty or cover any repairs are then chargeable.

As a result we are regrettably unable to offer any repair support at this time and am sorry that we cannot provide a more positive response or outcome to your escalation to our office.

OK. So I take it because you didn't register for the extra 3 year warranty they don't want to deal with it. May I ask what is the issue with the washing machine?
You have 6 years to claim. Unfortunately you need an engineer report if credit card doesn't want to help

I think you best bet would be an independent engineers report. My dishwasher and washing machine broke last week.. Dishwasher made by beko and was 3.5years old. Beko was no help at all when I called.. I think majority of manufacturers try their best not to fulfil their obligations.

Intermittent stopping... And 3E error... And yes it looks like we didn't register the promotional warranty

Seems like it could be motor or pcb. You need to chase retailer unless you purchased direct from Samsung. I believe Contract is with the retailer so Samsung won't care unless you bought direct with them . If retailer doesn't want to repair then an Engineers report is required. Once you get the report it should be easy to either repair or get most of your money back.

I understand why your annoyed with Samsung as altho you forgot to register they should still repair washing machine under the 5 year guarantee they offer if you register.

I didn't register a dyson but still claimed three years later. Dyson was fine about it unlike Samsung.. So there are manufacturers who don't insist in registering

I've spoken to Samsung quite a few times now, retailer is Currys but it's not really with them I have the issue (although yes by the word of the S75) it is them...

Samsung has said by registering the promotion it would have generated a reference number and sent an email..... Nothing else though... There's no third party insurance policy/warranty for example.
Great deal.

Here's what i have just received from Samsung after I pointed out the pages and pages of distilled customers on their website...

We are in receipt of your further mail and recognise your disappointment in communication of Samsung’s position by my colleague.

Samsung fully accepts that if any customer suffers a product failure it is extremely disappointing and apologise for this.

However, we would challenge that there is any known or inherent issue with this model but in the event of a component fault provide full support within the terms and period of the Samsung Warranty period, standard at 2-years.

In addition we do run promotional opportunities for customers on eligible models to register to receive an additional 3-year period provided a registration through the dedicated website link (included below for the current promotion by way of an example) is completed within 30-days following purchase:

samsung.com/uk/…ty/

As a promotional offer with specific eligibility requirements failure to complete this registration would mean the warranty would remain at the standard 2-year period and with your appliance approaching a year outside of the warranty period at the point of the fault being reported it would render any repairs as chargeable.

We remain sorry that we cannot provide a more positive response or a resolution for you.

Regards

Sean Archer
