Have been looking for a laptop to replace our 5 year old Toshiba and this Samsung stands out especially for the price.

Samsung R520 is the perfect choice for all. This stunning designed Samsung R520 notebook is complimented with a range of high performance features, great for on the move or as a desktop replacement. Its ultra sharp 15.6" LED widescreen display has a pure 16:9 aspect ratio, which is optimized for watching HD movies or playing games, with no black bars in widescreen, and also makes it easier to use Windows Vista gadgets.

Equipped with the latest optical disc drive and built-in stereo speakers, you can enjoy enhanced HD content, with perfect image and sound reproduction, wherever you choose to be. The R520 is also one of the lightest 15.6" notebooks in its class, a perfect balance of price, performance and portability.

Highlights of the Samsung R520:
Intel Centrino Processor Technology T6500 (2.16GHz)
3GB memory
320GB hard drive
DVD ReWriter
15.6" LED widescreen display (1366 x 768)
Windows 7 Home Premium

2% Quidco as well!

My samsung R70 has just failed (nvidia graphics failure).
Apparently most other manufacturers extended the warranty of their laptops with this GPU except samsung who still deny any issue (there's loads of threads online discussing it).

I have a full hd samsung lcd tv £900 - samsung combi microwave £200 - samsung portable lcd tv £200 and the r70 cost me araound £650 just over 2 years ago.

I will not be buying samsung again due to their arrogance on this matter.

Sorry for the rant but feel really let down. (that £200 3 year warranty sounds less like a rip off now)

argos asus deal is better imo, if you can get it....

Although i must admit, i rate samsung highly in their laptop dept, so good deal.

I would probably have opted for the Asus too, but sold out all around in my area by the time I had seen it however I think this is a pretty tidy alternative :-D

new idea scheme -
why don't we bring out a manufacturing failed card and charge a hefty amount for xtra warranty.

sounds like a double rip off to me , if what you say is true.
