I wouldnt recommend Samsung fridge freezer. Mine delivered in January is really loud and is way too cold. Already had engineer out twice and still not fixed. They are finally sending me a replacement after third engineer visit, although I wish I had just kept my old one!

Mine was RB29 model, but experience has put me off Samsung.

I got this model few months ago and it’s a great fridge. I agree the fridge does make the food really cold. I have put the coldness down on the digital dial. Would recommend
I have a Samsung oven that seemed fine until a fault appeared, still under their warranty but getting it repaired or replaced by Samsung is proving impossible. 6 weeks now and I still cannot actually even get to do anything after the first contracted ‘engineer’ came out. Beware.
Backing material: Metal
Is the backing retardant? Yes

Actually just seen on JL website it says that this has a metal back. £429 on JL website with 5 year warranty. They will probabaly price match Currys.
A number complaints on review sites about rust appearing around the water dispenser on some Samsung models after only 12-18 months which Samsung put down to "general wear and tear" so not covered by their warranty.
Don't know if this actual model would be included but it may be worth looking in to.

The 5 year warranty is with Samsung though (even on John Lewis) so not sure if theres a massive benefit of the price match route

Also found SAMSUNG RB29FSRNDSA/EU 70/30 Fridge Freezer - Silver for £379 …Also found SAMSUNG RB29FSRNDSA/EU 70/30 Fridge Freezer - Silver for £379 if you prefer without the water dispenser. Unfortunately spotted that both these have a plastic back which carries a greater risk of fire.

Which tested this backing & found it to prevent the spread of flames & gave it a best buy & 78% score

our Samsung fridge freezer was not great icing up of freezer constantly and just after guarantee ended it finally stopped working for the money its poorly made and very loud and a total waste of money, the quality was no better than freezers half the price and there are posts on YouTube showing many of the problems they have

Yes, saw the confirmation of metal backed but still curious as to my question.

I don't see how. It's not a question they ask so can't be taken into account. The Which research said plastic backed fridges are no more likely to cause fire.

We bought a RB29FWRNDSS a few years ago - also disappointed by how loud it is.

We bought a Zanussi a couple of years ago as a utility room fridge - again noisy.

Who did you buy it from? Your contract is with the retailer not manufacturer.
Often retailers fob you off to go direct to the manufacturer but it's rubbish and most staff don't even know the law and instead just spout what their managers tell them.

Your rights depend a lot when the fault happened after purchase.

But I agree about Samsung white goods, our washer dryer is forever breaking down but luckily hubby is an engineer so can fix it but can imagine how much I'd have been fleeced by now if I was on my own!

Good price though is you are looking at Samsung.. think this still deserves.. HEAT!

Currys but this is a manufacturer 5 year warranty on a 4 year old oven and Samsung have been dealing with me directly, they have not told me I should go through the retailer. Fine up until they sent Trio Appliance repairers to investigate, who said it looks like it will be condemned due to the interior rusting, paint bubbling and screws falling out (into my food!).
That was over 2 weeks ago and I cannot get anyone to answer me now, Samsung just pass Trios number who don't answer (many customers suffering the same). It will now be referred to Which? legal services and Resolver to escalate it.

Had our Samsung Fridge freezer about six weeks now and the nearly constant high pitch noise drives me crazy.
I have this Samsung fridge however I have not had any if the problems others have noted. That being said I've only had it since December. I would say though don't bother with the water dispensing models like this there a total pain in the arse to fill up and the water comes out super slow.

Yep - mine has exactly that - bubbling paint and rust. And it's an £900 RGS5 - about 6 years old. Quite frankly outrageous, when I complained, the blanked me and said it's out of warranty...
I have Samsung TV and Samsung phone and watch , superb, but when it comes to white goods, forget. Had an American Fridge Freezer and it packed in at the 2 year warranty period finishing, faulty digital panel £200 approx., so had to bin it because of similar faults reported on forums. Bought a Zanussi, no problems perfect.

Agreed - next time I'm going for a plumbed in one.
I can't find the place to enter the code on checkout???
We have a Hotpoint fridge freezer and never will I ever buy any silver kitchen appliance again, ours went rusty all over the freezer door in just months, we had to fight to get it changed only for the fridge door to go rusty, it was changed, then the freezer door has gone again in less than 2 years just a joke, had to fight to get it changed, but they said it's wear and tear until Currys stepped in and within a day we had an engineer with a new door, he said all silver appliances will to go rusty never buy one.........

I thought thats cheap for a Samsung until someone said rust!!!
I spent £1500 a few years back on a high end Samsung American style fridge freezer and ended up disposing it due the way it had coroded over a period of less than 2 years. Had numerous engineers out in that time and every one of them said that All Samsung fridge freezers will 100% show signs of bad rust after only 18 months of service and it's not covered by Samsung's warranty. It's a worldwide problem and when I researched it I found that in the US they are trying to compile a lawsuit against Samsung as it effects every fridge freezer bearing their name! Have a look on the Samsung forums for more information before you consider buying one. They are also extremely noisy too, not sure if anyone has already stated that. Remember Samsung fridge freezers are reduced in price for a reason!
Just bought this was looking at getting it last week glad I waited good find
