Found 15th Apr 2012
Our fridge freezer broke last night and i came across this:

Couldn't find anything else with this level of quality below £450/£500, so a pretty good deal with 2 year warranty.

Checked it out in a Comet store before i purchased it online, in store they had it priced at £499.

When you add it to cart a 20% discount applies and it comes to £359.20

Ours arrives tomorrow

+ TopCashBack can make the price closer to £350.

We have a similar one to this. Excellent product
useless for most of us, with Samsung cooling you have to leave a 50mm space either side of the appliance !?! not mentioned in any sales literature but is in the instructions. Not many houses with 70cm space.

one bitten by this, put it in a 60cm space and warranty could be an issue

Pretty much all fridge freezers require you have some space at back and sides, Samsung fridge / freezer is no different than others. If you don't you can wear them out more quickly - then with warranty.. If you are forced to put them in a confined space, just don't tell them if it breaks within warranty...

Funny doesn't mention any of that in the manual, only, mentions about leaving enough room for the door opening which any normal space will have.

To be honest it's just common sense to leave some space between side and back of a large fridge / freezer for ventilation, most recommend anywhere between 10-50mm
Thank you didn't need a new one as existing is still working well and is over 5 years old but at that price I couldn't help it, purchased waiting for the confirmation now, great find.
Great price spritey!!
A lot of peeps I know use Appliances On Line nowadays,
but when I compared this,
it came out @ £380 + 9.99 connect & dispose service!!
Very good price.(_;)
spritey how long was it until you received your confirmation of the order?

Been a few hours now and nothing.
I got confirmation after about an hour i think?

An email which confirms delivery etc - but i paid for delivery tomorrow morning.

Aye i had a look on there - also the one they have at £380 doesn't have the read out screen or water dispenser either.

Cheapest i found this fridge / freezer online i was £440, quite surprised Comet offered such a good deal.

I also used topcashback which tracked at £9 :).

Samsung have been doing the VAT Back deal on notebook PCs, printers, etc. and Comet must have persuaded them to extend the deal (without all the hassle) to other items. If you look at the Comet website, there are quite a few kitchen appliances - washing machines, ovens as well as the fridge freezers. No TVs or the larder fridge freezers though...
looks like the offers gone - £449 :-(

Anyone know if you can change the doors around on this? It's just that in my kitchen we have a washer that sticks out slightly and if the freezer door was to open like the picture shows, I wouldn't be able to open the drawers. Thanks

Yeah you can mate - is one of the features of it on the Samsung website. I plan to swap the doors round aswell.

Good price..
I learned the hard way, bought Prestige make from Comet. Shelves broke in 1-2 months, haven't seen such poor quality before. Only then i was told Comet owns the Prestige name and gets these manufactured cheap from somewhere and sells the bad product with great deal\offers\reductions, but a huge net profit.
I think it'll look odd with the doors swapped, due to the Water Dispenser, we looked at one and didn't get it because of this.
Too small capacity wise, I'm looking at getting one of the newer Samsung ones, they have about 3-4 more cubic feet.

Show me a Samsung fridge with a water dispenser and read out and significantly larger cubic feet wise, that is equal to or less than £350...

Because everything i saw Samsung wise when looking online at the 14.2 cubic feet mark and above, had prices starting at around the £550-£600 mark.

I've got this in charcoal. It's not bad actually, I always get compliments on it if the neighbours come round. Freezer's not huge, but ok size
Not all fridge freezers need space either side. My Bosch doesn't for a start. It does mention it in the user manual, I've had one.
Hi People, can someone tell me is this metal exterior not plastic? I cant find spec for that anywhere. Thank you.
All those commenting about space around fridges, the most important is to the rear, were the condenser and compressor are and when I make a cupboard to fit put a 3 to 4 inch deep vent with the 1 to 2 inch space either side should be adequate for cooling.

Never said anything about water dispensers or price. I just prefer a larger capacity for what I need. Haven't voted you deal cold BTW, calm down.
OP have you received your yet? keen to know what its like and would love to see pics.

Having mine delivered on Saturday and cant wait.
Arrived this morning while i was at work, wife took delivery.

Excellent service - even though we didn't pay for installation (£9.99) or taking away and recycling old fridge / freezer (£9.99), the chap did it anyway.

It looks very nice yeah - i'll post a couple of pics up tonight

Is there much to install? i haven't opted for that option.
Just a case of un-boxing it, putting it where you want and plugging it in. Was nice of the Comet man to do that for my wife though, saved me a job to do when i got home.

Yeah looks like deal isn't going anymore, glad we go in there quick ;).
