Not really a gaming monitor

Well all depends on how much your looking to spend - but for the brand and colour support I think it’s a fair price...

If you have bionic eyes, you might notice a difference but your also getting an IPS panel which does make a difference. End of day it’s still classed as a gaming monitor regardless

My work use iiyama. The stands are great, really good adjustment, image good. If you're looking at the cheaper end
Gaming monitor ??
No display port, only 60hz, small size (24" generally preferred for gaming).

The only thing going for this is the response time is ok and the brand is decent.

Overall though, there are much better monitor deals around, For either gaming OR as a general monitor.
5ms on a TN is horrible. Just buy second hand.
  • Fast 5ms Response Time
  • 200cd/m2 Brightness

Budget iiyama 24" VESA 100, we have 400 in my office, broke 1. Picture is more than good enough for retro games.
I'm using 2 Samsung UHD 28" at home, the VESA 75 mount is right at the top of the monitor. Wouldn't buy again, even though the picture is stunning.
Anyone able to point me in the direction of a decent 21.5” (minimum) budget monitor To connect to my wife’s work Microsoft Surface Pro 4? Would greatly appreciate any assistance on fhis

No freesync is a bit of a deal breaker.
5ms is absolutely fine for gaming. Unless you're a super keen gamer, it'll still feel super responsive. Heck, the best TV Game Mode settings out there are 20ms at absolute best, so for the average person this will feel great. If you have a dual 2080Ti Super X 7000 and need crazy brightness, colours, 144hz etc etc then yeah, this probably isn't the monitor for you. For someone hooking up an Xbox for casual play, not a bad shout.

no ports at all? there must be something. you can get usb adaptors/cables.

I have to use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable for my work's surface pro, like this:

Have you got a model number? It would be unusual not to have any other ports. It may have micro HDMI which would be tiny compared to HDMI.
