Personally don’t trust laptops direct, if you order and have issue you will need to pay for shipping it back and also if it’s opened they will deduct from refund value. Also be aware monitor has its own stand and can’t be vesa mounted. Also no pivot. So be aware! Otherwise good price and the display itself is good.
Not sure what people here are smoking, this is an incredible deal. 144hz VA 1440p 27inch panel literally ticks all the boxes that gamers would want and at <£200. It can be used for work upright, then folded closer to you for play, I would buy one if I didn't already have 3 monitors

I've bitten the bullet and gone for it. Fancy a new monitor with a higher refresh rate, and as there's freesync it's a goer

Also buy via paypal and it'll be eligible for free returns from paypal (people always seem to forget this exists!!)

Suitable for ps5?

It's a VA panel.
If you want a greater viewing angle, get an IPS.

The native contrast ratio is pretty good, so blacks will look black in darker scenes - however I guess it will have some poor black uniformity.

Refresh rate is great for gaming and it has low input lag but yes, the image will degrade to some extent when viewed at an angle but that is expected with VA - does not make it a bad screen though.

Any tv monitor in the same price/specification range?
No 3.5mm output was the deal-breaker for me

If it’s faulty they can’t make you pay for the return out of your own pocket.
Put a post on the expired amazon one. Freesync available via firmware update over usb, just to make you aware

Yeah IPS panel will have superior viewing angle but much worse contrast, grey looking blacks and light bleed / glow.
each has it’s own pros/cons.that’s why both exist.
Literally holding back because of the lack of VESA mount. Such a small, cheap feature that's actually pretty important.

Not really, you'd want a decent 4k hdr set.

You absolutely right here.

One more point to add, is that Amazon and some other heavyweight online retailers made us used to free postage back with no questions, although we pay that much more compared to other non free postage EU countries.

To compare some staff is £/€100 less in Poland or Baltic Countries.

So anyone should just not take things for granted.

100% agree with you.
I have 2 IPS panels at the moment, if I cough up for this it will be my central screen with an IPS on either side.

Half the point of this monitor is the stand.
No mention of Gsync/Freesync support?
CoeK15/10/2020 21:11

A tv

This is a common occurrence here. Someone asks if a monitor is suitable for a next gen console and the only other option is a near £1500 TV (yes this monitor is £200). 48 or 55" CX or go home is the message here I guess.

Will be available once updated over USB.

Which? Gsync or just freesync?
Any idea of the implementation quality? Has it been validated by NVidia?

With a FreeSync monitor you'll be able to manually enable G-Sync. Performance may vary though.

Decent for the price. Heat. I'm kinda confused by the product though. If you wanted your screen closer to you, could you not just move the screen closer?
Edit: after looking at the pics again I can see how it saves space on the desk.

Not sure about how well it works, the guy in the gives instructions and a bit of review, have a read. And yeah, it's freesync.

reddit.com/r/M…ck/
Comments at the bottom might be of use for how effective it is... One of the comments 'Once updated with the freesync firmware, and if you can get it for around 300 €/$, yeah it's a great monitor for gaming. If you're not a pro player, the monitor will do just fine.'

Also, I've read somewhere that if u happen to be running ryzen 'G' cpu (with onboard graphics) there is a work around to get Gsyncworking on some monitors. EDIT: Recalled incorrectly - make Nvidia cards work with freesync. Not sure if it'll work with this one tho. Also, you need two monitors, one to plug into mobo output and and one to plug into gpu. You alter the settings in bios to set onboard as main graphics output. Soz, can't remember fully. I'll have a butchers for guides etc. Hold tight...!

Here you go, but like I say, not sure the Nvidia workaround will work on this monitor. Even if it does work, not sure how effective it'll be...

Personally speaking, I have not had any issues dealing with them.
TrustPilot reviews overall seems pretty good too:

Looks like it's OOS both here and Amazon

If budget isn't an option, LG CX.

Otherwise LCD circa £1000 is XH90.

Those have the 4k 120fps options.

Otherwise I'd look for an old flagship model for about 6/700 like the Sony XF90 or XG90.
