So these have Alexa built-in.. Does that also mean they can be used as …So these have Alexa built-in.. Does that also mean they can be used as part of an Echo multi-room setup? If so, could the TV audio be sent through the soundbar and through the whole multi-room setup as surround sound? #WishfulThinking


I have one and it doesn't work with multiroom. Think of it as simply a standalone alexa, ideally the only one in a room. I disabled it as I had other alexas in the room and it didn't play well together

You can claim from them but needs to be directly. Difference is the colour.

To get cashback from Amazon it needs to be sold and despatched by Amazon. Does not work if you buy through Amazon from a different seller.

Quirks to be aware of:
You cannot lock the Bluetooth, so your neighbours can connect by accident.
Optical input is buggy, goes to sleep every 15 mins.

I find the voices are a little hard to make out at lower volumes, but then when action or music kicks in it can get quite loud. So hard to find a good balance when trying to keep a reasonable noise level at night.
Overall very happy for the (discounted) price, very good quality sound and huge potential volume.

    You've got to wait about 2 months for the cashback (30 days before applying and then 30 days to receive). These are now going for £80 - £100 on ebay so if you actually want one you're better off buying from ebay.

    Don't buy it if you're planning to connect it through optical. It keeps switching itself off after 18 min because of a power saving feature...
    Also, not having a built in display is a pain and you have to rely on sound cues.

    I used the Samsung cashback over Christmas and worked a treat. As stated above it can take a little while but worth it!

    FWIW I have a more expensive Samsung soundbar and it is not possible to link it directly to Alexa multi room (not selectable in the Alexa app). However, I found a work around by connecting a firetv to the sound bar, which is then selectable as an everywhere device and works perfectly.

    The voice enhancement is good for action movies but a bit screatcy the rest of the time but does allow overall volume to be lower
