Samsung S8 plus 64gb black €628 or £565 new from Amazon.it

  • €628 or £565 at the time of posting, lowest price ever according to The Camel and at least £100 off Samsung UK retail.
  • Use google chrome to translate to english
  • Click on new, scroll down to Amazon.it as the seller
  • Use Monzo or Revolut to buy this for better rates
  • Silver and grey options available too

I bought this phone back in May for €693 and its amazing. Used to hate Samsung phones but they've really lifted their game in the past 3 years.

Highly recommended. Slap a 128 or 256gb micro sd in there too and youre sorted. Much better value here compared to the Note 8.

Have a nice day

Have fun with the returns if there is any issue.

No problems with returns. Sent two phones back to amazon italy, been refunded for postage and actually made some £££ over the currency exchange.

Samsung are really taking the fight to Apple with these prices.

Good to know, as I've bought 4 phones from amazon,it for friends and family.... its worth the saving IMO and pretty sure you're covered by EU warranty so can claim in the UK if necessary.

you are covered indeed.

so the specs, 4G bands, etc all the same as the official UK version? Will Samsung UK cover for warranty? and in case of issue can you deal with Amazon UK chat (in english) ??

and is the box / inside instructions in english or italian? Just thinking about this phone's resale value when it comes to the 'next best thing' in a few months

I spoke to Samsung UK about purchasing samsung phones from EU countries and they said it was not covered. Best to make sure before you purchase.

Is that so?

Their web page states otherwise. Scroll down to the European Warranty.

"Consumers who are using a product in a country in the European Economic Area and Switzerland (“Europe”) which was first purchased in another country in Europe can obtain warranty services. The period of the warranty and the warranty service provided will be those of the country in Europe where the warranty claim is made."

Really, their website says otherwise?
"Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd support a product purchased in Europe if it has an EU Bloc Warranty. This warranty is present where the top of the product warranty card clearly states 'European Bloc'. If the product is purchased in another part of the globe then Samsung may attempt a repair. Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd cannot guarantee the outcome."

I almost took the plunge but... In all of your experience, how long do Samsung support their phones? Thinking about the latest WiFi incident and which manufactures are updating etc. I have a one plus X and it isn't seeing any kind of update, ever. Hasn't done for ages and won't ever again.
So question is this... Go for this or pay way more to have a pixel 2 XL maybe and know it will be supported for 3 years.

If you love:
1. headphone jack
2. uSD card
3. quality screen
4. non-bendable
5. Linux OS via DEX

Galaxy S8/S8+ is your friend.

Have you seen Erica Griffin's opinion regarding pixel xl 2? Apparently has terrible display!

True.
I'm comparing Pixel vs Galaxy ... Pixel is way more expensive.

Anyway, depending on the Linux implementation (currently beta); I might splash out for once.
I will sell my old Linux laptop to fund some of it.

€612/£547 for the Orchid Gray, ordered!

Thanks.

Good for you, I'm always trading my phone's into cex but this time I bought a Xiaomi redmi note 4 4gb and haven't looked back it is great value for money. I still use my galaxy S4 for camera critical days but overall every other day I use it whilst I rotate my 17 phones

Hmmm, this afternoon it said stock was expected October 25th. Now it's saying 1-2 months for delivery.

Procrastination got me again

I wonder if the £533 S8 with Gear VR is a better deal? Mind you, locking in a purchase at this price with 2 month delivery would give me time to see what happens in the Black Friday sales?

Personally I'm waiting for black Friday to see if I can get an S8 with Gear VR or a wireless charger for £499 new! Your idea of locking in this S8+ deal is not a bad one though. I'd hold off the S8 at the moment but maybe lock the S8+ and be prepared for done good deals soon!

True, but I'd like to think these prices aren't going to go back up and so I'm happy to wait a little bit longer.

Speak to them and see if they can charge different card. My return was like this: speak on chat that you'd like to return your phone. They will send you rma details. Book courier via parcel2go, I've used parcel force, to Italy it was like £18 with £150 protection. Take it to post office, send your courier invoice to amazon Italy (they will give you email over chat) and that's it. Postage refund came within 24 hours and phone refund around one week.

Yes lol. Italy has the same bands.
I'm Italian and have used phones bought in Italy here and phones bought here in Italy without issues.
No, you'd have to deal with Amazon Italy but they have an email address where you can write to them in English. Easily found in the help section.
Warranty is EU so no problems there.
Box will be Italian and you'll get the 2 pin plug that we use there.
I don't see why that should affect resale value... Who cares about the box or instructions. Phone is exactly the same you get in the UK.

I can imagine but they only need to worry if the phone is from the US or Asia.
I can assure everyone that band 20 is used in Italy too!

I took an S7 I bought recently (sold on and by Amazon Spain) to the Samsung Experience store in Newcastle today. Was told by a staff member and then the "manager" that phones bought from Amazon (UK or otherwise) are not covered by a manufacturer warranty as Amazon is not an authorised reseller.

It's quite possible the manager didn't know what he was talking about but worth clarifying with Samsung regarding their policy by email.

It's like buying from eBay. The warranty is with the third party, not Amazon. The product may or may not have been sourced in the uk and refunds are the responsibility of the third party.

In the UK, a manufacturers warranty is in addition to your consumer rights which predominantly exist between you and the retailer. Hence, your main warranty relies on the retailer, not the manufacturer. Third party suppliers can be private individuals and so you can be giving up most of your consumer rights buying through them rather than Amazon.
Amazon attempt to provide some protection, similar to what you might get with PayPal on eBay. However, if I wanted to make a claim in 20 months, I'd much rather do that with Amazon Italy than a UK third party.

Purchased on the 24th October, got shipped on the 2nd Nov, Arrived at Amazon Camberley depot on the 6th Nov but now it is missing. Should have been delivered on the 7th Nov but they cannot find it and I cannot get any updates from Amazon Italy. Their response for 5 days is the same: we are waiting to hear from Amazon logistics... sometimes wonder if getting it cheaper is worth the hassle...
