Order total:

which makes it around £439.27 with a zero fee card.

It's branded vodafone, which means it's got some pre-installed vodafone apps that probably can't be removed without root/custom rom. But it will accept any simcard.

The price shows as 499 on the product page but changes to 491 in the basket.2844329.jpg

'vodafone brand' mean it's locked?

Thanks! That's awesome.

This is hot! I have to give it a miss though I want to use my Amazon account balance.

Just flash UK firmware via Odin.
Simple.

Can' you flash this to remove the Vodafone apps. Did this with my s5 a few years ago to get rid of 02 apps after I had unlocked it

I don't think flashing an OFW will invalidate the warranty... unless you need to root it 1st...?

slow system updates as Vodafone tend to vet updates on their network. well unless anyone can correct me?.

I don't think flashing official firmwares would invalidate the warranty. Rooting and tripping knox however, probably would.

In any case if you have an issue, just flash it back to the firmware you originally had. All official firmwares are available online.

For the record, I have flashed my s7 edge to another official firmware.

What if your phone is unbootable and you need to restore your phone to factory?
I'm fairly sure flashing OFW does not trip Knox...

It definitely doesn't trip knox. I have done it.

The Phone will only accept Vodafone SIM, so not much use and I wouldn't take risk with flashing as there is no reason Samsung cant deny warranty if the ROM is changed.

The ROM changes all the time via OTA updates.

Flashing Official Firmwares will not give warranty issues. As I said, in any case you can always flash it back to the original firmware.

Thanks for the clarification on the SIM lock - Voda UK might be a little stroppy but you can get an unlock code for about a tenner (might have to buy from ebay.it - search for "s8 codice sblocco").

I think you're safe to change the ROM though but it's not the end of the World using a Voda ROM... A friend sold me their Voda S7E a year back (I'm on EE) and I haven't been bothered enough to change it. I have updated and even wiped it once through Odin and Knox is unaffected.

All comments say it is not dual sim unfortunately and likely to be sim locked.

Mostly it shouldn't trip knox if you reflash official firmware. And on most of my previous attempts it's been fine. However, on one occasion it did trip it, so as with everything there is a risk involved so bare that in mind before going blindly into this deal.

Great price but for me with the risk (all be it very small), I would rather pay more and be garuanteed a safety net of a warranty in case of any failures.

Ah yes...the first reply was yes but then all of the other said it's a single sim.
And for locked, I have vodafone so I don't really mind.
Just asked on the amazon.it, only italian vouchers can be used...pity

Flashing official firmware doesn't not invalidate the warranty or trip the knox

I don't believe you'll get a Vodafone boot logo or any Vodafone specific apps. My work phone is from Vodafone and yet to see any of those. You just need to unlock the sim which is usually around 10 to 20 pounds

To the OP? Are you able to confirm how much was charged to your card? Also any import duties from receiving goods bought from Germany?

Original Poster

This is from Amazon Italy and there are no duty charges. The amount charged depends on your card.

Offer is gone

It's still there. You need to select Amazon as a seller. Now it says shipping due on December 12

It is now officially gone, although available for back order

Just cancelled mines if anyone wants it

Have to agree.

If the phone develops a fault, just get a copy of the original Italian Vodaphone firmware and flash back before making a warranty claim.

In my experience, most faults are present from day 1. I'd test this phone with the original supplied firmware for a week and when I'm satisfied, I'd then flash the official UK rom.

Ah Coral Blue! Rather like the lime green of the car world!

Why?
There is nothing wrong with flashing a genuine Samsung firmware onto the phone.
It will not void warranty. They just frown upon custom roms and rooting.

I totally agree 787. I'm just saying test the phone out thoroughly before flashing the Samsung firmware. Especially if you haven't done it before.

Hello. I know this has expired but ai just wanted to say. I ordered this and it arrived today at 16:53. However the box cover sleeve was missing and the box had been sliced open with the phone gone. Avoid at all costs if it becomes available, as mine was from Amazon directly and this has happened.
