Don't want to travel to the states or don't want to trade-in your existing handset...

Another sim-only deal with handset from CPW, click on 'view bundles' under SIM free:

Or from the CPW site:

Not sure what your doing here but i cant find it at this price without having a contract attached, maybe a direct link to the offer would be better rather than a generic one.....
This is utter nonsense. Doesn't work. It's a 12 month contract. If you cancel within 14 days then you WILL have to return the phone because you are cancelling it. If you choose to cancel it and not return it, they'll charge you 12 months tariff. This is rubbish.

I have no idea whether this will work or not, but rather than resorting to playground insults if you're not interested in the deal then why don't you just keep your mouth shut and move on? I swear this place is nothing more than a d**k measuring contest sometimes. My guess is most people posting negative stuff just don't have the balls to go for this and so are therefore badmouthing the deal to deter others in the hope it doesn't work. I'm sure if this turns out to be a bum deal you'll be first in line to say I told you so but for now, shut the f**k up and move on with your lives. All this name calling is pathetic and frankly quite boring.

s9 plus = £844.00 is the cheapest 1 month sim only deal including the 1st month. £729 is a 12 month month deal at £30 per month. the cheapest 12 month deal is £965 total - unless im mistaken?

How exactly do you cancel the contract? They really let you have it for £599.00 with no penalty charges etc?

How can you cancel 12month contract after a month???

A litte story... So I was browsing those sim-only offers, clicked on the S9 and it said upfront cost of £29 and monthly fee of £30 - I quickly went ahead with it only to find that in fact the Nokia 3 had been added to my basket!!!
Looks ok and I see the reasoning get the voda contract under the cooling off period just cancel sim keep the phone bargain.im hot
Mmm... saw it initially but now seems to have disappeared??

This is a sim-only deal with an offer on handsets. Have a read through this: hotukdeals.com/dea…953

You'll find all the info you need. I've done it with a cheaper handset but it's the same principle with more expensive ones.
Basically you're buyinng the phone from CPW but the mobile contract is with Vodafone - you can cancel the sim-only within 14 days cooling off as with any contract.
Edited by: "vbnmu" 26th Feb
can you combine this with the trade in offer?

So you'd buy this say with VF which comes with a 12-month contract. You would then call VF as soon as you get the phone to cancel and they'd let you have the phone?

Can someone confirm how this would work?

Yes they do if your ultra paranoid read through the terms and conditions first
So its not really a deal, its a contract with a huge upfront cost, not a deal at all is it really, a bit misleading?
is this means i can sign a contract with anyphone and cancel it right after i receive the phone?

£599 or potentially £549 for a new S9? May not be a deal for you or me (as I wouldn't buy a handset at that price) but plenty of other people do buy expensive phones.

Edited by: "vbnmu" 26th Feb
The chances of them blarring about this is very small because after all your not taking out a contract with a free s9 then trying to cancel the airtime.your paying 599 upfront which is probably inside there buying region.in my opinion this is a cracking offer and post if your credit rating let’s you get the contract get it and the phone will definitely come unlocked

The trade-in value for my S7e is £175 - so potentially this deal could cost me £599 - £50 Quidco - £175 trade-in = £375!!!

There seems to be an additional £100 on S7e so that would make it £275 - but am unclear on this one:
carphonewarehouse.com/mob…tml

*Receive an additional £100 when you trade in selected smartphones including but not limited to: Samsung S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, S7, S7 Edge, S8 and S8 Plus; or Iphone 6 & 6 Plus, all capacities, Iphone 6S & 6S Plus, all capacities, Iphone 7 & 7 Plus, all capacities, Iphone 8 & 8 Plus, all capacities when you purchase the Samsung S9/S9+ in pre-order. Both the trade in and purchase must be completed online within 24 hours of each transaction, and can be completed in either order (trade in first followed by pre order, pre order followed by trade in). The additional £100 won’t be visible online when trading in but will be applied once the device is received and checked at our warehouse. Limited to first 9,000 customers only in retail and online. Any additional trade-in value will be given via bank transfer. Full trade in offer available with selected working and non-working Samsung and iPhone handsets. Trade in price is determined by whether the phone is working or non-working. To qualify for a working price the phone needs to power ON/OFF, have no missing pixels, damage, burnt LCD's, include battery and charges up, have no cracks or chips on screen, all working buttons, have no damage or faults to camera, have sound & vibrates, have no liquid damage, not be bent, miss shaped and have all parts. Any handsets that fail these conditions will be deemed Non-Working and pricing will be reflected. We will accept handsets that are water damaged, won't power up/work properly or have a chipped or cracked screen, case or missing buttons and includes battery and will be given a non-working value. We do not accept crushed handsets.

S9 are on 12 Months contract, you can't cancel them and keep the phone!

My inner cheapskate is telling me to cancel my pre-order and give this a shot, seems like a gamble though.

seriously doubt it indeed, carefully read the bumph, its a contract with a minimum term,we've seen these bogus deals every time a new handset comes out....take the risk and weep when you find out your locked into a silly expensive deal, i promise not to say i told you so
