This is an amazing deal for a whathifi 5 star TV rrp £1500 (http://whathifi.com/Review/Samsung-UE40B7020), here's how it works:

beyondtelevision.co.uk price = £1004.93
cashbacknetwork.co.uk cashback = 3.5%
samsung.com/eco cashback = £150
Total = £819.76

That's the cheapest I've ever seen this TV, which for those that don't know is next generation LED, i.e. very thin.

I can't actually afford this TV (even at this amazing price), so unless you wan't to donate some funds don't rub it in too much, happy shopping!!

NOTE: The Samsung promotion ends 31/10/09.

Cold voters, explain yourselves, got a better deal??

A good deal.
Probably gone cold because people don't realise this range of TVs is something special and it is BY NO MEANS an overpriced 40" LCD telly (if people don't understand, they shouldn't vote).
Heat & rep added.
Significantly cheaper than Play.com (who have the very same TV for £1,129.00).

Shame Samsung are tight-wads and won't give the eco-cashback on the 55" version :-(

Incredible telly and great deal.

Yeah, I have never seen this under £1000, as you say they don't know about this TV...

Incredible telly and great deal.

Saw one side-by-side with a Samsung regular LCD and a Samsung plasma.
No comparison; this TV rocks and beat the pants off the other two (which I found ironic; considering PCWorld had an in-store rolling display on all three TVs explaining how plasma is best and doesn't suffer from motion blur - In fact the plasma did, badly, and the Sammy LED TV didn't - at all!!!).

A mate of mine bought this from PC World recently for around £1200 I think. It's an amazing piece of kit. Am so tempted.

good price.. I would really love a 1080p TV - but haven't got this much cash lying around... I'm sure in 6-12 months time, it will be half the price anyway... let's hope so....

Well; the same £200 eco-cashback is available on the 46" model and is tempting me (makes it quite hard to justify the extra £900 to go from the 46" to the 55" version).
I can't think Samsung are going to sell too many of the 55" version (which is a shame, as that's the one I'd go for if it only had the £200 eco-cashback).
Samsung may have shot themselves in the foot, because I'm now 50/50 split between getting the 46" version and waiting until the LED prices drop because 3D-TV hits the shelves late 2010 (I was 20/80 between going for the 46" now or the 55" now).

THIS ISNT an actual LED TV, its LED BACKLIT! Samsung have been facing a lot of hassle from trading standards and other powers to stop saying that these are LED tv's , when theyre just backlit by LED's

Indeed; it is backlit by white LEDs.
However; this is a good thing (because florescent backlights on "normal" LCD TVs give poor contrast ratios and cannot be dimmed during dark scenes - relying just on the light blocking capabilities of LCD - i.e. not much).
Also the LEDs can be dimmed or turned off in zones (can't do this with a regular LCD).
All this gives this range of TVs (even if they are LCDs with LED backlights) a better display with brighter colours and better contrast than any other non-CRT TV I've seen.

I'd have this TV over a regular LCD or plasma any day (that should annoy the plasma fan-boys out there ;-)) and it is well worth the extra money.

Fantastic Price......Can't wait for the 50" to eventually get below £1000

VOTED HOT, But going to wait a while for reviews to build on this tv, hopefully by christmas time the price should be around £800 anyway.

new techology so i dont think no one in the UK has had it long enough to judge the reliability, just gets me thinking; if its LED backlit (i.e lots of little LED's focusing light, how long before 1 light cocks out, leaving a slightly darker patch on the screen. extended warranty plans a must, if buying this TV right now.

ummmm

My wife hates my love of tech as it costs money.

Yet her jaw dropped when she saw how stunning these Samsung LED/LCD TV's looked in Comet a couple of weeks ago. For her to admit that the TV was 'brilliant' and ask 'how can it be so thin' were like an angel whispering sweet nothings in my ears.

I want one of these TV's so badly! The good thing is we've agreed to NOT buy each other Xmas presents this year and get a new TV instead

They're not positioned directly behind the screen, but around the outside.
So one LED failing will have little to no effect on the picture.
There would have to be a failure of an entire array to create the darker patch you're concerned about.

ive had this for a while now it still wows people when they come round

the T.V is mint But i did notice in tescos the 32" and the 40" were both pumping through sky HD and the 32 looked way sharper but they probably wern't set up properly.

it's a right price though

Lol at the bitter Sky Blue ... Waghorn's goal was stunning!

Agreed it was a good goal(ouch that hurt....!!) but it was against 10 men... given that you'd kicked the 1st scorer out of the game(cheats!!):whistling:

was also looking at this tv in comets with my 9 year old son and couldnt believe how good the picture was - probably the best visuals i have ever seen on any tv and ive seen quite a few , am so tempted but already have a 46 & 40 sammy and a 42 lg and although i love my tvs the wife is going to take an awful lot of convincing. excellent price for an awsome product

Have been looking at this telly for a while, also lookin at the sony 40" kdl-z4500. I was finding it hard to choose which one to buy, they were both around the same price, the sammy had in my opinion better picture quality, the sony had much better sound quality and was 200hz, but having seen this deal have decided to go for the samsung and with the money saved I can put it towards the surround sound kit I've had my eye on for a while

Now out of stock and back up to £1005 - good deal while it lasted though!

The price hasn't changed, you get the price by claiming 3.5% cashback from Cashbacknetwork and £150 from Samsung, see the original post for more details...

perfect deal

After a lot of decision making - me and the partner both went for this TV as our Christmas present to each other.

I ordered from AJ Electronics as they had this TV for slightly less at £1,004 and have 3% Cashback at www.topcashback.co.uk and is also in stock so should get the TV by Wednesday :-D

£820 for a TV like this is a MASSIVE deal. This TV will not hit the £850 mark for alteast 12 months or more.

Good deal!
Can someone please tell me if I buy this or the 8 series from Costco, if I can still claim the cashback from Samsung, as it says in the t and c that you have to show you're not going to sell it on and seeing as it is a traders warehouse that I'm purchasing the telly from, was wondering if that would exclude the voucher...

But it is £820 TODAY............So in 12 months time it could be around £599

This deal includes £150 cashback from Samsung. This is withdrawn at the end of October. The TV might come down in price by £100 for Xmas, but will still be higher than with this cashback in place.

Showing as out of stock

Is it not cheaper to get this from Costco (less the £150 cashback) and also have the benefit of a 5 year warranty? :?

Also, you shouldn't include cashback in the quoted price as it's not guaranteed.

Yes ... but ... have you seen one of these TV's in action?

Even my wife who hates technology and gadgets (as it means spending money) was gobsmacked by the picture quality of these sets. They're stunning to watch and if I had the money I'd have one now!

nice deal but im saving my cash for the 3d tv from jvc coming out middle of next yr 1st generation

prob be put back tho

Good find... Voted hot but shame its OUT OF STOCK ! ! !

It will be interesting to see how much these screens change in colour, as high power LEDS change in colour over time

can u get this one from costco, thanks in advance

The Sony Z4500 (old model) or Z5500 are far superior to this particular model. Granted aesthetically these sets are the dogs b*llocks but the picture and motion handling is nowehere near as good as a top of the range Sony or Panny.

However probably the best and most stylish set you will get for £850ish.

should i buy one?
will it be good for bluray/ps3?
