That is one very nice monitor. There a deal for it from PC World a while a go. I think that's a good price for an excellent monitor though. ;-)

Great price for a blindingly good 22"er!

That article is interesting/worrying, though.

Most new 226BWs aren't A or S tho... just to let you know, it's most probably a C panel

Also, there's a new 226CW model coming out with 92% of NTSC colour gamut, compared to this 70% model. In other words, it displays a wider range of colours

Not the same monitor, that's 225

Still, even the A version is one of the best on the market, it's just not quite so good as the S

It's Samsung's way, im not excusing it but they do it with every display device they sell!

Great deal by the way!

Isn't this the 'panel lottery' monitor? Think people were complaining about it on OcUK.

sorry, but i don't think this'll be an A, i think it'll be the C that PC world had (also reduced).

i've had a C panel and took it back. they're ok (like, you can just about see stuff on them). but they're not good. make no mistake, if you're buying one with a C panel, you're buying a BUDGET monitor, and i'm sure you can get better for the price.

Hp W2207 Is Better!

Just joined the forum..First Post...Been Reading your Forum for MONTHS..
The last advert here for this Monitor @ £229 at currys..None was available here in Swansea but Currys told me that PC World in Merthyr Tydfil had 5.
I phoned and asked for the Serial number n if it had a letter "S", reply was YES...I poped up there Yesterday n Bought one...Charged me £224, All Black n it DON't Tilt.
It is also the "R" n I'm haveing difficulty in Colour Profileing this monitor for Photoshop..Colours are RUBBISH..To Light on screen n Photos in Photoshop printing DARK..
So if anyone knows how to Profile this Darn Monitor PLEASE explain to me because I've tried it All from 6.00pm to 00.34am n used quite a lot of paper.
Never had any prob with my crt 19"..
Apart from that I'd like to get my Screen colours correct....Anyway after all that, I'm Quite Happy with it...
THANKS for a Great Site/Forum.

sorry not quite getting this??...are you saying that you have a R type panel not the S that PCWORLD said it was????...mine is still to be delivered but I can see it will be going back if it isn't a S panel.

I think you should return it and maybe consider this which had excellent reviews

I see no mention of a R panel in the article I linked in an aearler post???

R doesnt refer to which panel it is, its irrelevant as its on most of them. The S/A/C letter comes after the R in brackets [S] - but on some newer monitors it doesnt have the extra letter, or even say anything in the service menu as Samsung have tried to stop people finding out which panel they have. If there is nothing after the R, you really dont know which panel you have unless you go into the service menu or if theres a "version number" sticker on it somewhere.

Have a read of this thread ]http//ww…6BW

The 8 bit colour thing is exactly why I went for a Dell Ultrasharp over this. SIPS panels are better than TN panels for photoshop work

Original Poster

Got mine delivered today, ordered it sunday morning.

Picture quality was excellent out of the box very little needed tweaking. Was a little worried after reading some of the responses and reviews.

Very pleased with this buy, would reccomend to anyone.

Mine is "M-ME22W0BDA-1003 C329"
Looks like a "C" panel...I've uninstalled the Colour programs and am useing ADOBE GAMMA..Colour Profile is Spot on for Photoshop useing my Epson 1290s....A bit Off useing my Epson R220..
Can't see anything wrong with this monitor, so whatever it is that peeps don't like about em, PLEASE Explain why in plain English..

OH Yea---PS----If this is a 22" Monitor, why is it only 19" from left to right ??

Because monitors are measured corner-to-corner.
