How well do galaxy watches work with other android phones like a Pixel 3a for instance?

This one in particular, absolutely fine.
Really good price for new and must be more useful than these Huawei type ones. I'm wearing mine now - got refurb for £120 odd I think - not as slick as Apple Watch but works well and does most of what I want it to.
A warning, this is a big watch! You might be better with the 42mm unless you have big wrists or like big watches!
This or vivoactive 4s deal
Great hardware that works fine with every android phone and iOS device (though more limited). One major annoyance for me is that as it’s not wear os I can’t use play music integration or google maps or pay. Here maps is good on phone but rubbish on watch vs Apple or google maps. Noticed the big difference around Manchester and Birmingham in built up business areas especially. Samsung pay is arguably better but rather just use one. Great if you’re a Spotify user though and as an Apple Watch owner I’d arguably say I prefer the Samsung fitness design on this watch for gym. Only negative Is bezels scratch easy so more a dress watch (I’m careful with stuff even at gym) then my Apple Watch that I’ve found tough for both.

They have the 4g one for £215 as well, with a little jiggery pokery I managed to get Quidco to track at 5% over the weekend, whether or not they'll pay out remains to be seen

You don't have to be an Samsung employee, just anyone who has access to rewards, like blue light card (police, ambulance etc.) and rewards gateway (royal mail, parcel force etc.)

They don't look particularly inspiring to be honest, I think Ebay could be a better bet, depending on condition:

Hmm... Yeah think you may be right
great price, I picked up a refurb for not much less.

Amazing hardware, the software and everything else about it is atrocious. Make sure you research and ensure it does what you want it to do before you purchase.

Hot!

40523719.jpgOn a medium size adult wrist. Doesnt stick out as much as the last Gear S3 frontier though. Bought for £129 (with cashback) last month. Very happy, and a good upgrade from my old Huawei watch 2

Love my 46mm Galaxy Watch. Looks great, love the software (vs Android Wear) and it works flawlessly even without a Galaxy phone (using mine with a OnePlus 7 Pro.)

A comparison as sent mine back and went with the 42mm as have small wrists. The 42mm is closer to most normal watches in size - again to give others considering it an idea of size.

Side by side comparison which might help others (46 bottom of pic)

I went for the active 2
Had a luck to buy 46mm LTE version for £125 on eBay for brand new this January. BIG watch at first look, but got used to it and now am very happy. Especially battery life of 4-5 days, where on Apple watch had to charge every night.

I was wondering what is the best between :
- Vivoactive 4 (Garmin connect)
- Galaxy Watch + GearTracker (sync to Strava)

Does anyone have an idea ?
Thanks

Not sure on the Vivo, but this is great at tracking exercise and running. Built in gps, and if you forget to start a workout, itll recognise it automatically. Even a rowing machine workout.
ThecSamsung health app works well, but it doesnt work with Google fit. Unsure about strava, but it has its own Strava app on watch.
Ordered mine thanks
Yay hang on I thought phones was your department heat on

I've got most of the Samsung watches (at the moment I've got the gear fit 2 pro, the active 2, galaxy watch 46mm and 42mm both are very heavy compared to the gear fit and the active 2), great looking watches and decent features. However from personal experience Samsung make poor fitness trackers. Used to have a Fitbit 2 and as a fitness product that blows Samsung away but it's everything else that Samsung do that's v good. I've never owned a Garmin but my mates that do say they are great fitness trackers better than Fitbit. So it depends what you want from the watch.

The 42mm galaxy watch is better looking than the 46mm version but awful battery life whereas the 46mm has great battery life

I hope that helps.

I've heard that the step counter is inaccurate, but I like the fact it tells me I've done 1k steps walking to the bathroom

Besides, when I get rare gaming time I can channel my inner Division Agent geek

This is a good watch. I bought this when I got my Note 9. I would recommend getting a tempered glass and plastic cover for it to protect it from scratches. Mine had a few bugs over the course of a year with screen freezing but that seemed to be okay after an update or when the battery ran out. It has been stable for a while. I like the 46mm due to the screen size. It can take a few knocks but be careful about scratches. Apart from that I would recommend it
