Thought this looked fairly cheap..

indeed it is a good deal.

Comes with a 3 year warranty which is handy...if it fails they send round a replacement within a few days.

This is a repost of hotukdeals.com/ite…nit - only noticed 'cos I'm looking at this Samsung and the Philips @ £185 that someone posted yesterday

Interesting indeed. I am in the market for a 22/23" TV/monitor (a lot of slashing there!). Been looking at the LG M227WD from Richer Sounds which is £10 cheaper and seems a similar spec.

Hmmm....choices, choices

Samsung have a fantastic replacement service, I purchased an ex-display Samsung monitor from PC world some 13 months ago and it developed a fault so I contacted PC world but they didnt want to know about replacing it, I contacted Samsung UK and told them of my plight and the very next day they turned up at my door with a brand new 22" LCD monitor, hows that for service.

Sooooo this is a PC monitor, but with a TV tuner. And not a TV per se :?

Even though Samsung usually add HD to the end of the model number for a TV as opposed to BW or whatever they're using now.

Hmm this the or the ebuyer Philips/LG one. Indeed decisions:-D

Good job it has a decent warranty and you can talk to the manufacturer. Amazon have a habit of not bothering to talk to people once month 13 comes along and the awesome piece of electronics kit has just failed / you've found a fault.

Is it just all in the name or is there any quantifiable difference between this and a screen that is foremost a TV rather than a monitor??

I've got one of these, replacing an old 19" Iiyama CRT monitor, and haven't been that impressed to be honest. In fact, I was quite dissapointed. The quality wasn't as good as the cheapo panels we use in the office and the OSD is bloody annoying!

I'm using this monitor as we speak. Top piece of kit, and even though "it's just a TV Tuner" I can't seem to tell a difference, works perfectly as a TV. Also has an analogue tuner, which is handy.

I think i got it for £190ish, which was a good deal.

I bought this from Amazon for £179 a couple of months ago, and am very pleased with it (It was £229 in Currys Easter "sale" with £80 off!!! lol. I am only using it as a standard definition TV, but have tried it as a monitor and looks fine to me!

The sound is "Tinny" monitor quality.

I got this monitor 9months ago for £130 from a deal posted on here! its gives excellent results used as both monitor and TV. Got full functions for both options, using it mainly as a TV with a freesat HD box and results are excellent. Sounds could be bit better but other than that its amazing. Looks and design are very nice too.
After the first week developed a problem in the display (lines going across the screen) phoned Samsung they came next day collected it and returned it 3days later but was still faulty so they came back the same day and 3days later they returned it and its working fine now.

Is it a TN panel?

What do u mean by standard definition? It has full hd.

This is a monitor with tv tuner, lots of deals around just now take your time and do a little research
