There was a deal last week about this monitor and it has come down in price again !

Seems to be the cheapest anywhere and is really good price for a 24" with DVI and HDMI

Total with 7.99 P&P is £175.60 but there is a £5.99 P&P option .

Here is what was posted last week

"This is a fantastic monitor and at this price the inclusion odf HDMI, USB hub and integrated speakers make this an absolute bargain. I bought a month ago for £223 and some vendors have increase the price to over £330 as it so difficult to find.

I also forgot to mention that this monitor has a height adjustable stand and can rotate into portrait mode!

The spec and performance is amazing for this price! Also at nearly 24" its huge! Recommended!

Did I say that this was a bargain? :)"

Yes , this is a bargin

Be kind first deal.

Looks the business. Samsungs are nice monitors, very nicely built and this has all you could ask for.

Heat added.

Yeah ive got a 22" Sammy now but fancy a bigger one, anyone know if its much bigger as i bebeive its wider but not taller if that makes sense ?

Here is the old thread as reference
hotukdeals.com/ite…0-/

I was keeping my eye on this and a few days ago the price went up from £205 to £230. I was really surprised this morning when I saw it at this price.

Deanos: Its a very good monitor for the money , its about 30 - 40 quid cheaper than anywhere else. I dont know what you intend using it for but it would make an excellent PC monitor or If you are using it for gaming an awesome screen for HD gaming. I like the added touch of the USB ports but I dont know what use they are apart from charging ipods.

£164.90 + delivery at Saverstore
saverstore.com/pro…074
If you use the 3% off voucher (5RY7-OL5F-8K95), then it works out £168.87 delivered.

Isnt Saverstore really bad tho ?

EDIT + 3.5% Cashback kings

I've ordered from them before with no problems.

Started a new thread with the new price.

Tempted to order 2 to replace my 2x17" screens :-)

There is the 5.99 delivery option at CCL that would make the monitor cost £173.60 , so if you buy the SaverStor one it is a saving of only £4.63 OR pay 2 quid more at CCL and get it on monday . But I have heard and seen numerous threads on how bas Saver Store is.

I think that was the old Savastore, as they appear to have ]got their act together of late.

But as you say, CCLOnline is a safer bet if one doesn't mind spending the little extra

Great deal btw

I couldn't see warranty details on site....or is it automatic for Samsung to give 3 years warranty for all their Monitors?

Sounds good to me.
Shame I can't fit anything larger than 22" on my desk, else I'd be buying this.

im tempted with this butn my old LCD monitor any res apart from the native one doesnt look very good. So if this is native at 1080P, would 720P content (360 games, videos etc) look garbage?

Original Poster

RJharrow - All Samsung monitors have 36 months warranty

kristianity77 - Im not too sure , I think it would just be scaled so it may look bad but if your playing through a 360 wouldn't it be HD anyway ?

You can make the 360 output 1080p so even if a game is technically 720p the signal the monitor will recive is 1080p. So the answer to your question is no your games, video etc won't look garbage. The monitor is a TN panal though which means it has poor viewing angles, however unless you pay sustantialy more all monitor panels are TN.

For the price this is a cracking deal. I'm tempted myself but I'm trying to save money to buy a house and can't justify an upgrade from a 22".

just ordered... i've been looking for a 24" monitor for weeks, I can't let this pass......thanks...

Does anyone have any experience with samsung warranty.. if theres a problem will they straight replace the monitor like dell do or will they send it for repairs taking several weeks and then send back as i'd prefer straight replacement..

i've heard bad things about samsungs warranties on avforums.. so just wondering.

The Samsung support has been brilliant In my experience. I bought a reconditioned Samsung monitor from eBuyer last year which suddenly stopped working (dodgy power supply perhaps, since it completely died). A quick phone call to Samsung, and a replacement monitor was at my door the following day.

This looks awesome. I've been after a 24" monitor since Christmas. I like the fact that it's Samsung and has HDMI but they haven't bothered adding crappy speakers. I also like the fact that they've put both static and dynamic contrast on the spec list (1000:1 and 50,000:1, which are excellent contrast ratios). The response time of 5ms could be better (my current monitor is 5ms so I'd like to go down to 2ms, but to be honest I've never had any problems with 5ms even when gaming).

Now if only I had the money!

How strange, this only has 1920x1080 resolution, which is quite low.

The SM2493HM has a 1920x1200 resolution, which is quite standard for a 24".

Thats because this is a 16:9 aspect screen, rather than 16:10.

It's not a low res, just a different res, infact it's quite a hight res...

As SPARTAN086 Mike says it's a 16:9 (which seems to be becoming more widespread) not a 16:10. I'd say it's more suited to gaming.

I'm still pondering this one, CCL isn't that far from me so I could also pickup and save P&P... must resist...

Sold out as of 12pm BST. :-(

damn just missed out.

Out of interest, what are the options for using this with better speakers without connecting to a PC? Can USB be used? What about the HDMI?

pity it's 5ms and not 2

seems to be out of stock

hi...just for info - i ordered one last night through saverstore - now showing 'order in progress'. my bank has confirmed that the payment has been taken...will report back on it's delivery! so may be that's an option, even if their service is bad??

i too ordered one of these this morning at about 10 am! Money has gone from my account so fingers crossed on delivery!

can i play my ps3 and output my vaio onto this through hdmi?

that was very quick indeed, just the other day when I ordered, there were 39 in stock . . now, just down to 1....

price has gone up as well

a shambles- why can't anybody keep their stocklist correct - tried to order from ccl yesterday morning, but they showed as out of stock, so ordered from saverstore, then received a phone call an hour ago saying they were out of stock, and none more available from supplier- now ordered from ccl, they're showing 1 in stock, just as they were last night, and still are an hour after I've ordered, not much confidence theat I'll receive one...

saverstore cancelled my order too, saying that they have ran out of stock! typical, never again.
i shouldn't have been greedy and should have gone with cclonline in the first place! missed the deal.

I just got my lovely samsung monitor today, love it a lot . . . . thanks guys for the heads up.....

just got in- email from ccl to say the order's been dispatched. wahoo!
