Both my ST presence sensor and door/window sensor have died after less than 6 months and the latter was forever playing up. Xiaomi sensors take a little fiddling to get paired with the ST hub, but have been rock solid for me ever since.

My ST door sensor stopped working today. I removed it from the app and whenever i try to connect the device again i can seem to get it to pair. Did that happen to you?

To be honest, for the price and for the amount of negative comments relating to ST sensors i wouldnt recommend them and i would agree that Xiaomi, Aeon or Firbaro are better alternatives.

I know what you mean, but for the motion sensor, the ST one is rock solid and also its price is comparable.

Assume these are zigbee and not zwave?

The Xiaomi PIR, with Lux sensor, is regularly £7-£10 from Gearbest, I wouldn't say that's price comparable.

Erm what is this for??

Looks like motion sensor already out of stock!

Are you sure the battery hasn’t just died? They’ll show in ST at 67% or something like that, in my experience they die after about a year, a new battery resolves the problem

Mine stopped working last week and has just been sent back for a warranty replacement.

They definitely need to redesign these as there are lots of reports of failures.

My door sensor would regularly stop updating (would not register the door opening/closing). I would have to remove and re-pair to get it working again. Then one day it just wouldn't re-pair after I removed it. Tried a new battery but no joy. Shoved it in a drawer with the presence sensor which drained a battery after about 3 months and then also refused to re-pair.

The ST motion sensor is the only one that's been reliable for me. I had trouble with the first gen xiaomi motion sensor not staying paired, but I've heard the gen 2 is better. But as you point out, they're much cheaper so I wouldn't buy the ST sensor, even at this price.

We picked up the SmartThings Starter Kit the other day from Very for £99.99 - yes, other places are selling at that price at the moment, but as new credit customers we got £30 off and £80+ spend, so £69.99 for the lot!

These seems to be back in stock.
Maybe unexpire?
