SAMSUNG SmartThings Starter Kit - £139.99 @ Currys

The smartthings starter kit is again on sale at currys. Its still £199.99 at Amazon.

I bought mine in early January and it is highly customisable. The xiaomi sensors are available for under £10 which are compatible with smartthings.

This will be a good investment for anyone who already jumped into smart lighting.

The kit comes with hub, presence sensor, plug, motion sensor and door window sensor.

Good price
Is it worth getting this if I also have Philips Hue Hub?
Great find for this but if your only after smart sockets switches and lights + maybe temperature control/monitoring
Worth looking at Sonoff stuff on ebay starts at about £4.85 got my hotwater + heating controlled on my phone for less than tenner .Was very easy to set up as well does most of what Hive and Nest do and compatible with google Nest
Dont need hub either devices connect direct to router setting up very simply with free app
Not knocking this deal though if you after smartthings starter kit this is great deal

Depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go really.

I've got this, harmony and hue all tied into routines etc. You don't need this for hue but it helps if you want to add other bits to trigger actions etc.

Yes, I have both. SmartThings is a house-wide brain, Hue - lighting subsystem.

where do you buy your xiaomi sensors from just eBay all shipped from China from what I can see?
is the battery life ok with them

yeah, cannot find any cheap reliable motion sensors. the uk market seems limited compared to the states
These work great with smartthings. The community has a working device handler. I have 7 of them.

I bought on gearbest. Battery life is much better than smartthings sensors.
My smartthings door sensor after 1 month use reported 67% battery. Xiaomi after 1 month still reports over 90%.
