Can someone tell me if this is the correct type of hard drive that will fit inside a media player enclosure? if so it seems like a hot price...

The Samsung Spinpoint F1 drive offers a superior combination of density, recording quality and reliability. It also features Samsung's industry-leading NoiseGuard and SilentSeek technologies to eliminate acoustic noise. Servers, high-end desktops, RAID systems and DVRs are among the applications well suited to the Spinpoint F1 drive.

Which Media Player?

If the enclosure accepts standard 3.5" desktop hard drives it will accept this.

Depends on the enclosure. Types are 2.5" and 3.5", each coming in SATA and PATA/IDE types and virtually everything only accepts one of the four without extra adapters. This is a 3.5" SATA drive.

Which Media Player?

i was thinking of something like this so i can hook it straight to my telly and watch all my movies/clips/music etc on the telly and only have to hook it to the pc when transferring files on to it. This way it keeps my laptop free. total unit cost including memory approx £116

Should do the trick - but be aware that the player you're looking at doesn't output in HD, so it wont look very good if you're running it through an HD LCD / plasma TV.
