Nice price

Really good deal... hot!

Could this sort out the Dell mini 9 owners memory problems?

Samsung like to hide their info on this, but its a damn good spec. Following URLs should prove interesting.

Very tempting. Thanks OP

thats a **** hot deal !

Great price. Also rememeber that SLC drives have a better lifecycle than MLC drives.

32 GB is also £69.

nice!

Afraid not as the Dell Mini 9 Netbooks use a PCI-E SSD for their respective 'hard disk'.

This is however ideal for other netbooks or laptops that support SATA, as its a 2.5" SSD 'hard disk'.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Great review showing all current ssd versions (except for newly released ocz vertex). The samsung has consistent performance, excellent write, good access times. The intel x25-m may be quite a bit better, but at this price nothing comes close.

Just ordered 4... don't forget 3% Quidco!

H+R added!

thanks
ordered the 32GB with free delivery
intending to use this for desktop, hope it works (standard connections?)

it's SATA so yes, will work fine in a desktop. you'll just have to blue tac it to the case somewhere or maybe use a cable tie, since you obviously won't have a slot for a 2.5"

no doubt a misprice, though great if they actually ship

and so it begins...

SSD wars, bring it on and bye bye raptor and velociraptors hello SSD

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

or just get a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter :whistling:

Does this work in the new Unibody MacBook 13.3"???

Yep, easy to install too.

Good price but 64GB isn't a workable size for me.
I'll wait for the 250gb to come down to a similar price before I buy...I wouldn't expect I'll have to wait long ;-)

Cheers so not a misprice then. I'll give it a miss for now

Hi there

Nope the price is correct, we've sold half our stock in 24 hours, we probably went out too cheap but were pushing good deals out the door at the moment.

But remember that the speeds are a big improvement on the regular 2.5" discs but not the 3.5" - this review with tests explains more geek.com/art…23/

I may be wrong, but I don't think you are allowed to set up user accounts for self-promotion on this site.

Nothing wrong with that surely - with a username like "novatech-rep" he's not hiding anything is he?

Hi there

I emailed the admins of the site making it clear who I was and still not had a reply.

Also note I am not doing any self promotion, I have not put any deals up, all I am doing is answering possible questions people may have.

If admins dont like this then I will stop but I hope am allowed to continue so can answer any possible questions people may have.

I just bought 2 velociraptors.

Guess I am going to now have to sell them as I have bought two of these.

Do these SSDs perform better than the velociraptors or is it due to price/noise?

Nice of Novatech to answer questions directly on this thread and also keep people informed about the stock situation.

Novatech_Rep

Does the stock counter on the product page not take into account orders placed? For example, the 64Gb SSD shows "248 Due Tomorrow ".Is it a real time counter so that if someone placed an order for 10 and comes back later (and assuming no one else ordered in the mean time), it would then show as 238?

I think these are generally faster than velociraptors, main thing for me is the raptors get very hot where these will not give out anything like the same heat.

Fantastic deal - should improve performance/battery life on my laptop no end!

Anyone know if this is a 1.8" drive in a 2.5" case?

I need a 1.8" for my HP 2510p laptop...

Hi there

In that case I shall post no further until admins have got in touch with myself, thanks for pointing that out to me.

Many thanks - a decent and fair response

(p.s. The post of mine you quoted shows that I included a sentence of my own in the incorrect place during an edit. That has now been amended - apols for any confusion it may have caused)

Great price & hot at this moment in time, but only for early adopters!!!

Give it 6-12 months, and we will get 250gb SSD drives for the price of current 250gb HDD.

Just ordered.... sounds good.... especially if I can stick it in a portable dock and use it in my car. :-D

btw, when i ordered last night with free delivery, expected delivery date was 25th feb. so quite a wait. but worth it imho

i don't really understand how novatech can do these 1/3 the price of anywhere else, unless everywhere is soon going to drop their prices.. surely every shop is going to get the same big wholesale price reduction? why would samsung offload so many so cheap unless it was for everyone or there was something wrong with them..

people should realise that XP doesn't fully support SSDs so this is going to be a hassle to get working properly.. i think its worth a go. if i was sure I could get them working properly with XP i might order them for all my desktops now.

Hi there

Until I get email from admins I have to be careful what I post but am hoping its OK to answer your question about our stock indication system.

When a product is in stock it counts down in realtime, thats once your card has cleared and the product has been allocated to your order. On product due to arrive it still counts down but is not in realtime, its updated hourly I believe.

Hope that helps.
