cheap? Thats expensive compared to current market prices for a half tb ssd.

The 1tb version was roughly the same price posted on here not long back! (edited)

I think your link points to the "wrong" deal on the Amazon site, it does not link to the "Everway Group" deal. It points to the "Sold by Amazon" deal.

This link below points to the "Everway Group" deal (not that there is much difference in the pricing)

(Note it is Everway Group not Everyday Group)

IMHO no-one should be buying this drive capacity. 240GB for an OS / apps drive + 1TB~ drive for everything else. Or just go straight to a 1TB drive +.

    that's quite pricey

This isn't a deal. You can get a Crucial BX 500GB for £22.

The BX is DRAM-less, the MX would be equivalent to this drive and it's about the same price.

    That's very expensive.

Worth noting that the Evo range is always sold for a higher price and is regarded as being better due to reliability, higher terabytes written etc.

So yes, there are cheaper SSDs out there, but it's not an apples to apples comparison. I'd generally lean towards paying a little extra for better drives than cheap ones as I've had a few cheaper nvme SSDs fail on me.

So many people here going on about this being more expensive than others this size.
There is a reason it's more expensive, this drive has DRAM-cache, the others do not...
The only other common 2.5" SSD that has DRAM-cache is the MX500 and it's around the same price as this for the 500GB.

That said, I'd say it's a little overpriced, but not much.

If you just want a drive for storage, backups, etc, then go for a cheaper one
For your OS and games, this will perform better.
DRAM also increases the endurance of the drive, so there's that too.
