Good find!. That is a great price. Looks like a misprice to me.

I've ordered 1, could be a misprice, but it's not an outrageous 1 and is in their sale items...

Wouldnt be first time play.com have put items on that they have no intention of honouring. Just cancel your order, dont even have the decency to email to tell you:x

My status has changed to packing and they've taken payment which they have never done with any of their other recent mis-prices. I do agree there have been a lot of them.

I have also jest order this! Was looking to buy the 19" version from dabs for the bargin price of £135 yesterday and this morning managed to get the 20" for £10 less!!!

Heat and rep added!

Looks like all Samsung monitors are covered by a 3 year warranty.

I was tempted by this a few days ago, but the newer Samsung models just look so much better. Still not sure what to do, £125 is a great price though.

It does like nicer but cheapest price for that I can find is about £170 delivered here: ]http//ww…724

And all the reviews on the net say the Viewsonic VX2025wm is so much better than that, but is +£200

I bought one from Amazon a while back. Very impressed with this product. Works well with PC and XBOX 360 with VGA cable.
Just cant figure out how to adjust the height of the screen?

Presumably if the Control Panel/Display options on a PC don't give 1680 x 1050 as an option then a graphics card would be needed? My nephew needs a new monitor but he only has a standard onboard graphics card.

Strangely mine has 1600 x 1024 as an option so would that just mean there is a bit of a black border?

Great, was looking for a 19", but at this price, I went for it!

Thanks!

I am not upgrading my iMac (that has built in screen) until later this year but am tempted to buy the monitor now and leave it in the box until then at this price especially if it has a 3 year warranty.

Can anyone confirm if it does have a 3 year warranty or not as if not I will resist as I don't want to effectively lose 6 months of a 12 month warranty with it sitting in a box.

Will this run a 360 and pc together 1 with DVi running 360 and VGA for the PC?
Cheers

I don't think the 360 has DVI output so I'd say no. Check though as I may be wrong.

Have got a DVI/VGA converter plug to use, but was wondering which would be best in the Dvi connection?
I havn't got a DVi connection on my PC only VGA for both 360 and PC

Many thanks - ordered to go with yesterday's Dell deal (£188.07 del.). Very glad I didn't take the Dell value 19" monitor now - this is far superior for not much more. :w00t:

I guess this is the A-Panel version. If you get the S-Panel, it would be a top price for that!

can you not use this monitor for both?vga socket for 360 and dvi for pc, then you dont have to unplug cables etc?

Fergal

whats picture like on 360 with this monitor? is the native reolution supported ?

In what respect are they better? I have a Samsung 970p and a 173P monitor. The SyncMaster 173P is older and better in my view but I am not a gamer. I have no idea what sort of panel is in either but all I know is that both are monitors and they display what I want them to display clearly and have never had a problem with either ... I can't see how any other monitor could be 'much better'.

Nope it supports these:

640×480,
848×480,
1024×768,
1280×720,
1280×768,
1280×1024,
1360×768,
and 1920×1080.

Hi quackstar84

My graphics card has the following resolutions. It seems to have all but not '1680 x 1050' Does it mean this Samsung would work & be compatible with any of the resolutions you have listed? I originally posted on £99 Amazon deal but this seems to be a better one but the graphics card doesn't seem to support neither of mentioned resolutions.

800 by 600 pixels
1024 x 768
1152 x 864
1280 x 1024
1600 x 1024
1600 x 1200
1920 x 1080
1920 x 1200
1920 x 1440
2048 x 1536

I mean, can we still use it with the nearest max resolution e.g 1600 x 1024 in my case & get a decent picture quality?

Many Thanks

The resolutions I listed were those which the xbox 360 supports only. I was replying to "Bully" saying it the SM205BW doesn't support xbox 360 using it's native resolution, although you can use 1280x1024 @ widescreen.

You're gfx card will be fine... don't worry about that.

Sorry I thought you were replying about Samsung. I guess when it says 'maximum resolution' it is for the best quality but we don't have to use that if we don't have it?

As long as you are happy that I can still use 1280x1024 @ widescreen, which is my current one, I shall buy one of these.

I now need to decide on which one!

Many thanks for your help
