but this is a lcd tv with a built in tuner. unlike the pcworld product which is only a pc monitor.

That's a good price!. Argos have reduced this by a further £20.00!. Must've done this overnight as was sure that i'd checked this yesterday morning and was priced at £249.99!. Good find!.

Hi, Am almost certain that this item is wall mountable. Think was an SM940MW that was plugged into a games console at a supermarket that i'd spotted a few months ago now. The SM940MW was priced at £299.99 down from £349.99. Now down from £299.99 to £249.99 and most recently £229.99. A good buy at £229.99.

Tesco Extra are selling similar Wall Mountable Brackets for either £7.49 or £7.99.
Probably not exactly the same product but more than likely comparable to the one that Argos are selling for £19.99 (half-price if bought with several of their LCD TV products).

HTH.

It's an extra inch, has a higher resolution, and a 6ms response, so if you're primary use is as a PC monitor than I agree this is better, but the on the SM205BW the DVI has no HDCP, in has no tuner built-in, no component, no RGB SCART, no s-video, no composite...it's just a DVI LCD. The 940MW is more versatile whereas the SM205BW is better for PC use...

but the on the SM205BW the DVI has no HDCP

It got HDCP - take a look at specification. The 940MW got no HDCP.

That link to the Samsung site for specs goes to the 205BW

Here is a 940MW link

Yup, the SM205BW has HDCP. I wouldn't watch HD on a 19" LCD TV, especially without HDMI, as it would look pants. You need a 26" or a 32" TV to fully appreciate HD. Also they are both LCD, saying it is a PC monitor doesn't matter.

my bad with the link - can't edit it for some reason. and yes, it would seem the 205 is HDCP compliant, i may be tempted by one of each! Review for the
205 ]HERE

and a couple for the 940MW:
]REVIEW 1
]REVIEW 2

and the 940MW has HDCP support on the DVI

are you sure it has component? i only see composite...

If you look at the Samsung site link in the OP - samsung.com/uk/…ons
It includes this:

Special Features - HDTV Ready, MagicTuner Support W/W TV System, Sound: Virtual Dolby, BBE. Composite, S-Video, Component, TV(RF), Scart. PIP/PBP (PC mode only). MagicChannel(Korea)

Also if you click the 'Features' tab - samsung.com/uk/…res
There is a photo at the bottom of the rear connections where you can see the component & other connectors.
