Bargain.. why didn't they just say if was 5x faster in all the marketing... typical Samsung... has to be EXACT!!
Might sound a silly question but if I wanted to back up photos and video from my iMac,is it easy enough done/does it have to be formatted in some special Apple way ?
Do they offer screenburn warranty?

Yeah it's easy to do. Simply plug it in and open Disk Utility. Click on the external hard drive icon in the sidebar, then go to the erase tab you can see. From the Volume Format menu, hit Mac OS Extended Journeled and you should be good to go once it's done!

Thanks for the comment mate.

Got a brand new 2019 5k iMac still sealed in it's box waiting to be opened and thought that a SSD would be good to store all the photos and videos on as the iMac uses a HDD
Don't forget to Time Machine back up your stuff every week...

Brand new 2019 iMac still uses a HDD boot drive!
You couldn't make it up. It's a disgrace for something so expensive to cheap out on such a crucial item.
It would cost them next to nothing to include one as standard but then I suppose that'd eat into their upsale margins.
Remember when companies valued their customers business and had pride enough to build a product that would last?
Apple: Planned obsolescence perfected.

You can't even upgrade that part (easily) after the fact.
So genius. Much courageous.

Oh well, enjoy.

Yeah I know it’s not great but to be fair I never had any issues with a HDD in my 2018 5k IMac and that would boot up in 12 seconds.

12 second boot on a hdd?

12 second boot on a hdd?

12 seconds from it being completely off and me pressing the power button and it asking me to sign in.

From what little i know it will boot up from the SSD part of the fusion drive, hence why it boots up quick I'm guessing.
Apples way of saying they put a hybrid drive in cause they are cheap and called it something flashy?

I imagine there's a lot of trickery taking place in the background to achieve that figure.

ie, laptop style no POST, no bios boot selection screen, SSD cache, perhaps hybrid shutdown and delayed startup of services.

The Wizard of Oz comes to mind

I already have two of the Sandisk drives. They are excellent as are the competition with similar speeds but what seals it for me if the waterproofing and how lightweight / rugged it is. It is tiny! This will be my third

Impressive for a £1500+ machine
But who switches off their desktop now? Not me.
How does this compare to the sandisk portable ssd one on sale yesterday?
Why

No i was simply explaining my situation after asking a question regarding the deal product.

Anyone would think I’ve come onto a PC deal and said that what i have is better.I simply stated that I’ve just got a brand new one,is it now a crime to be happy about a new purchase ?

Every week i make helpful videos for YouTube about products that i buy and people comment on how they like my enthusiasm and excitement for new purchases, yet you say a passing comment about a new item on here and it would seem it is then fair game to be slagged off for it,very strange, but then again Ihave a funny feeling it is more to do with the fact it is an Apple product than anything else.
paid over £300 for this in March last year. ouch.

Hope they put the 2TB model in the Prime Day later

The fusion drive.
Apple have flown to the future and brought back some advanced technology.
Or they simply installed a hybrid drive, which works out cheaper than a SSD.

Oh FFS mine has got lost in the post. Amazon tracking says “On the way, but may be late”. Happened before and it never arrived. I’ll give it a few days but surely they should honour the original price if I reorder it?
