Is this tablet any good?

You can get it new for £199.
excellent tablet much better than an ipad
Pay £30 more and get it brand new with 2 year guarantee from John Lewis.
Myself and several friends bought these on the o2 deal a while back. Each and every one has the same issue. Wifi says fully connected but drops constantly. Two of us got a replacement. The replacements have the same issue. Samsung couldn't give a flying toss. They say it's a known software issue but they've no idea if they will release a fix.

Mine is sat in its box and I'm back using my iPad 3. At least I can stream an hour of Netflix on that without it saying connection error every few minutes.
I got on on black Friday for the same price, it's been excellent apart from the storage being take up with samsung bloatware.

More likely an o2 software error
Bought my mum one of these as she's happier with android, I have to say it's a cracking tablet! Extremely quick and easy to use for browsing. Just be careful to buy the 10.1 version like this not the older 9.7 version as there's a fair difference.

ETA: No wifi dropping issues that I've seen so far. If it really is that bad @wotan could you not just root it?

What would that actually achieve?

I've not rooted an android device before. So not sure how that would help with the wifi issue.

Well i doubt it's a hardware issue, more likely software related. By installing a clean version of android (i.e. without all the samsung or O2 bloatware, a piece of which is likely causing the issue) the device should be as good or better than new.

Do a bit of googling, you might even enjoy tinkering with it and exploring what it can do

Thank you but I don't think I'll bother.

I can't actually see any o2 anything on there. It was unlocked when it arrived. Not that I'm saying there isn't any. Just that there's no specific o2 apps or any mention of o2.

I have no problem tinkering. I jailbreak every iDevice I own. I'm just bored of wasting time with this tablet. I've reset it to factory numerous times. Cleared the cache partition. Set a static IP. Reset my router to factory (which caused my wifi printer to refuse to reconnect - which took three days to fix). Used Odin to reflash the firmware. Used easy switch to reflash the firmware. Taken it to the local service centre who rebuilt the software.

I think I've wasted more than enough time with it so unless I know 100% that it will work then it can stay in its box.
