I've had this one for a year almost, probably got 2 updates, Android 10 is coming in July this year as per Samsung Members app. Samsung has never been great at updating their tabs, however if you are happy with current functionaility then it is a great tab I use it daily.
IPS screen? Rubbish, it's OLED like all Samsung tablets.
FYI these are discounted everywhere at the moment. Lowest price ever on Amazon for the 64GB WiFi only version: £299.
only problem I've had is that the bezel is so thin I keep putting my thumb on the screen. Not sure 128 is worth extra if you can get 64 for 299. they're not as useful as they used to be to be everything is oriented to mobile phones now isn't it

Actually it is - the 128GB also has 6GB ram VS 4GB in the smaller version. Lots of future proofing there.

Can't argue with the point about tablets Vs mobiles, that's why there so little choice in the tab market.
Yes I guess so but you do get combined storage these days which works quite well

I guess not that many people need that much storage, indeed. But I would rather have the 128 and no SD card than the 64 and a ton of space on slower media.
Anyway, irrelevant in this case because I suspect there's almost no stock available at this price!

I've got the s6, but it's definitely overkill, if I hadn't had a cracking deal on mines when I was in the US then I would have gotten this. I had been doing without a tablet on the principle my surface book and note were good enough, but nope an android tablet is still the best thing I bought last year. Only possible negative with the S5e is it might not have the juice for some of the better games, but it's not a total slouch.
My personal experience with Samsung's tablet updates has not been great. They usually update it to the next version of Android, that too a year after the version is released, but that's about it. If this tablet is getting Android 10 later this year (when 11 is likely to be released), it would likely be the last major update. On my very old Galaxy Note 2014 tablet, I ended up doing the updates myself up to Android 8 (currently on Resurrection) thanks to the very active AOSP and LineageOS community.
I've got a s10 plus. Love it. I'm tempted with this as I'll use it for reading ebooks and such. Should I get this or a laptop? Or like one person says do I really need that any more. I might even get an older Samsung tablet. As I feel that will be good enough for me.
