Older model for sure, but tbh the specs are pretty decent and you aren't missing out compared to equivalent 2017 LED PLS HD monitor. The technology for these panels hasn't really moved in last few years so you can get a decent saving.

so it's a telly !

If you read the title / post you can see it isn't just a telly is it

Who said it was..? I think the post quite clearly states that it's full HD/1080p. Jees...

I would expect it if I was spending over 100

5ms grey-to-grey. So... what's the input lag?

coventgamer

There isn't a single 4K monitor available on the Ebuyer site for less than £240.

Definitely a telly with a 5ms response time !

£100?! You're deluded mate.

You can "expect" it all you like but you won't get one with that resolution for anywhere near that price.

cold, 1080 tv with a dvb t tuner - so no hd tv

You're straw-manning. The point is that 1080p's a fine resolution for a monitor that costs less than £100. If I were spending more money I'd want a higher resolution too. 2560x1440 for instance would be a good resolution for a 27" display.

I think you may have taken my reply out of the context of the original comment made by coventgamer, that he would expect a 4K monitor for £100. He has yet to provide an example. I'm not strawmanning at all.

That's my point, you've straw manned his original comment:
"No good for 1440p or 4k"
"I would expect it if I was spending over 100"

That is not the same as "I expect 4K when I spend £101 pounds". That is the straw man statement.

I think it means "If I were going to spend greater than £100 pounds on a monitor, I'd want it to have a higher resolution than 1080p". Expect's just a poor choice of words. If I expect the postman to deliver some free gold bars, that's silly. If I want the postman to deliver free solid gold bars, that's sensible.

In a Classics staff-room at Oxford, possibly; on a post on HUKD, it is exactly the same.
